I have issues with it too and have been having little bites of food, like chilli and soup. I think if we Keep it small and well chewed it's better than not eating.
I had my surgery on the same day. I notice small changes each day. Belly not as swollen and my headache is gone. Sad to say I haven't had a shower yet either, but I will tomorrow. Still like water but most sugar free is so chemical tasting, I would rather not eat it. I will have to see what type bothers me the most. Hang in there.
I was asking my surgeon just before surgery if everyone wanted to jump off the table and run. I too was frightened about changing my anatomy. I considered that even the negative consequences I was already suffering with and if I could limit the amount of food I wanted would be worth it and be the right choice for me. Only you know the right answer.
Yes it's all behind me and I went home without pain medication. Just a bit of pain moving to lie on my sides. I felt more nausea than pain but the nurses were great. I am better every day and the scale is going down pretty fast. :-)
I had surgery on Thursday. It is frightening. I have had surgery before but forgot the process. My pain was minimal but you will be uncomfortable. I know I had second thoughts up to the time of surgery. Hang in there as I am sure both of us will be very happy about it soon.
My surgery was 12/26/13. Doing well but I have felt when food either enters or leaves my pouch. I feel a pinching burning pain for a second and then it's gone. Anyone else?
My second day of preop diet, my dad was in cardiac icu. I wasn't able to lose all the weight my dr wanted but it didn't effect the surgery. Just getting back on track is important.
