  1. Hi Stefanie! Sorry i misspelled your name last time. sounds like you are doing great on pre op! wtg! i lost 10 lbs on the preop diet. i thought the pre op diet was really hard. Do you have a good support system? Are you married, kids, etc? Id love to try whatever Protein that you dont use. Maybe i have some that you can use too. I usually make my own shakes with GNC whey protein (it mixes easily and doesnt have a weird aftertaste) or i use the premade Premier Protein from costco (both the vanilla and chocolate are good). tell me more about you. are you all ready for surgery?
  2. Hi stephanie, i am kim. yes i had it done at lovelace westside. i live near Unser and southern. i am 45. im 7 weeks out and have only lost 24lbs since surgery (34 since the preop diet) it is going slow, but steady. i still get hungry and that is sooo frustrating. but i feel pretty good, so that is a plus. i didnt have any complications. i had that shoulder pain and it sucked for a few days but that was it. what are you getting your MS in? I have a MS in nursing. Love to hear back from you

  6. I am almost 5 weeks out and I still get hungry too. an acid reducer helped somewhat. dont let anyone tell you its all in your head. sometimes hunger is really hunger. Its gets better as you advance your diet. I am ok with it now (for awhile i was pretty down about it). but i know that if it werent for some hunger, i would never eat. Beat of luck ot you!
  7. Congrats! Youre doing so well. keep it up!

  13. I am 4 weeks out, and i still get hungry. i am ok with it now, cause i know i would never eat if i didnt feel hungry. i too obsess over food, but it is hard not too, since i track every gram of protein, every calorie and every swallow of liquid. You are not alone!

  16. Hey all. I am 4 weeks post op. I have been at a stall since week 3. I am 5'5"and now weigh 219lbs. I am down only 15 lbs in 4weeks. My protein intake is at about 54 gms per day. My caloric intake is at about 400-700 cals per day. My fluid intake is about 48-52 oz per day. I need some encouragement. click on "like" to give me a boost, or post something positive. Thanks to this forum for always being supportive! You all rock!

  22. I like the #4 from GNC Whey 60. it mixes easily and doesnt have that yucky aftertaste. I'd also add to that list- Premier shakes available at Costco. Good info, thanks
