  1. Chris how are you doing this month?
  2. My nutritionist says to eat till your full. That is what I do. She said the restriction will gradually help with how much keeps us full. That is what I am counting on. I have some restriction but only with certain foods. thick bread and pork chops. everything goes down fine.
  3. I started the Elliptical March first Now April 18 I am at one hour 60 minutes Do what you can today. Then tomorrow make a goal to do AT LEAST that much. Today you can do 2 minutes fine tomorrow shoot for 3 or 4 Just keep at it. You can do it. Muscles have memory. They remember being fit. You are more likely to get back to that fitness level quicker then someone that was never fit.
  4. OK My family has history of high blood pressure. To combat this we meditate. I would sugest (to someone that dosent meditate) The day of your next BP visit Take a half day. Bring a book or video game. Or magizine. Something that relaxes you. And just go into the office planning for a good outcome. Positive attitude will help keep BP lower. Dont let yourself get worked up. Deep breaths. I would try it out on the walmart BP machienes. lol To see if you can lower it this way before scheduling an apointment. Good luck
  5. LOL I used to get the hiccups EVERY day. That was before surgery. NOW I have only had hiccups about 5 times total. LOL odd but I am loving it.
  6. I love the chopstick advise. Here is my tip for you conserning drinking AFTER meals. I have a timer. On my desk at work. When I come back from lunch I set the timer for an hour. When it dings I can drink to my hearts content. but as long as it is ticking I cannot drink. It helps me...at least while I am at work. At home. ( I live alone) I just dont fix a drink for dinner.
  7. Thanks, I am just a little freaked out because I have not lost anything in almost 9 weeks. I am at the gym 4-5 days a week on the elliptical every time for an hour and lifting weights hoping to increase my metabolism. I know I have probably changed fat for muscle. but I cant tell that my clothes are any looser.
  8. LOL yeah tracy I have definitly lost my maners forst the burping everywhere not the regurgitating food. lol Oh and grandma would be very disapointed at how I pick at my food. lol
  9. Shoot I am impressed you walk to work...I think that is great! 35 min walk is great.
  10. Thanks I will keep a food diary. It is honestly the one thing I hate doing the most. But I want this band to work. And I need to do something because what I am doing now is not working.
  11. lol me either. (cross them even like a guy) If I do my leg falls asleep in minutes or slips off. lol Odd the things you look forward to.
  12. OK my mother lost her lower legs from complications of diabeties. She rides a bike (3 wheel) and walks some but it hurts her to walk too much. she Has these resistance bands to help her with arm muscles. and She does work outs with her legs while she is sitting down to build muscle in her legs...basicaly to keep them strong. I love the water idea. And if you join at the Y you can do some strength training too after swimming.
  13. I am staying on my excercise plan...I need to find the right plan for eatting.
  14. I am 4 monts out from surgery. I am a little tired of this hell. lol It is really not that bad. I can eat pretty normally. and That is what my nutritionist sugests. But I am worried about not losing for so long.
  15. I was not put on a liquid diet. I did have a very low sugar low carb diet for the week before surgery. I think it helped me prepare for sticking to the plan after. I had some nerviousness about being put under. But I just kept thinking positive and remembering that my surgical team does these surgeries all the time. and I may of been quite big but if they thought it was too risky they would not be doing it on me. Saying that. People, I need help. I have not lost weight in quite a while. do you think I should be doing weight watchers or something? My nutritionist keeps telling me that it is normal to not lose weight till your fills are adjusted properly. but I am getting a little frustrated. They say for us not to worry about claories and such. But I am working out like crazy and not losing weight. I am not gaining so that is something but I am starting to get worried that it isnt going to work for me. Do you think I should be following weight watchers? Or do you have any other sugestions?
  16. I am at the gym about 5 times a week. at least an hour each time. I do the Elliptical for 60 minutes up to 4 miles now. *toot toot* sorry then every other day I lift weights after I do the elliptical. I am much more active then I used to be. So I am glad I am doing what I do I believe it will pay off for me.
  17. Even though I eat less WAY less then I did before I am still getting 1200 calories. I drink a lot of milk and even though it is good for you it does have calories in it. This might be a question to ask a nutritionist. Come to think of it mine said she wanted us to make sure if we had a stalled weight we were to check to make sure we got 1000 claories at a minimum.
  18. I said the same thing...3-5 bites?! I know I need another fill. I am terrified that it is not working for me. But I keep excercising and getting fills and I hope it will work.
  19. Yeah it is hard for me to go to lunch on time sometimes. So by the time I can go I am way too hungry. So now I have a jar of Peanut butter on my desk. when I get hungry I have a spoon full. Not the best choice but better then some others. lol it keeps me from being too hungry.
  20. Me too being bored and eatting is the worst for me.
  21. Thanks fanny! I am going to try that too.
  22. You should definitly go see your doctor. and then if they have a program with a nutritionist one that knows how the band works. Get with them too! Just do it! Start following the rules. Just start now. forget about the past. And go see your doctor. He will want you to succede.
  23. I eat lunch meat by itself. But At work I make my own lunchables. with whole wheat crackers Turkey and cheese. I also have a lot of chicken. On our paper from the nutritionist she says if yogurt is what you like then add some granola to it or more fruit or some nuts to thicken it up some. so it is a little more substancial I can e-mail you the scaned page from my nutritionist if you want to send me your e-mail address. It is all about lap-band friendly meal choices.
