  1. I went to the water park this weekend and to exit the park you have to walk up a very big hill. Every year before I have had to stop at all the benches to catch my breath. This weekend I walked up the hill and bypassed all the benches. I didn’t even have to stop once I was not out of breath. It was amazing. This is the first time I noticed a difference in my level of fitness. I have to say it felt so great.:biggrin2: I had this goofy smile on my face for the rest of the weekend.:biggrin2:
  2. During my support group last week we had a representive of the lap band there and she said that in the port their is 2 rings of titanium. The walk thru should be ok but it will be picked up by the wands. You can just show your scar if they question it. My dad had hip surgery and gets stopped every time and he just tells them he had hip surgery. he dosent have to prove it so we shouldnt either.
  3. LOL sometimes it feels like they think my fat is contagious lol morons.
  4. For me One day off is no big deal I stay active running arround grocery and washing my cars and stuff like that. Now If I take 2 days off in a row it is hard to go back in. I will want 3 days off 3 will turn into 4 and so on. That is why I cant take a break. But that is be. and that is how I work. I am not saying that is how everyone works. I just know that I cannot allow myself to have a break.
  5. Wow I hope you are feeling better now. Sometimes a fill takes a little while for it to kick in i guess. Sorry for your pain.
  6. I havent heard of this. If my dr has problems getting the port I do the fill under x-ray. But I am good right now.
  7. My dr said you need a fill when your not losing 2lbs a week constant. lol odd I think. But basicaly it is on how you eat and how quick your hungry after.
  8. Wow I hope noone tells me to take a break. I dont think I could get started back up again. When I get to those points that I really just dont want to do it. I have to have that conversation with myself. I work out 5 days a week. If I dont want to go then I have to be prepared to go on one of my normal off days. Or If I do go I will tell myself I can do a smaller work out. (even though I end up doing the full work out)
  9. I have to agree with the Victoria Secret thing. I went in to buy a gift for my sister. some lotion and a gift card. and couldnt get anyone to wait on me. It was not crouded and I felt like I had the plague how they avoided me. When I finaly got someones attention. The lady said to me before I could even tell her what I was looking for she said we dont carry your size. and walked away.
  10. I dont have any problems with pills. I am at good restriction right now too. If I get popcorn I buy the small bags the single serving ones. I seem to eat the whole bag...nomater what size the bag is. So smaller bag is better for me. I am still amazed at myself when I dont finish something.
  11. Want2behot, do you need a fill? Do you drink with your meals? How much excercise are you getting? And do you eat bulky solid meals?
  12. I firmly believe, what you do comes backe to you three fold. Good and bad. So I try to have my good deeds and thoughts out weigh the bad. Not saying I am always nice...Just that I try to be more nice then mean.
  13. Yeah, I am the non-violent type so I dont really throw things. But now that I am a little more secure in my job I would definitly of loged a complaint. Not that anything would happen for it. Because size discrimination is the last form of acceptiable discrimination out their. Anyway, I would definitly retaliate if it happened now. Even though she was my team leader.
  14. Well count yourself lucky. you somehow missed the snide comments. When I started to work at the company I am at I worked out in the factory. Our line was made up of 9 people only one of them was a guy. the team leader and her 2 best friends would throw screws at me and laugh when I turned arround. They would put notes on my back and be basicaly hateful to me. I had just started working their so it was not like I was mean to them or anything. they were so mean to me I would cry on my lunch hour. But I knew I couldnt quit because I needed the job. I heard more fat jokes the first month of working with them then I did growing up. And when I said something I would get the whole "stop budding in our conversation we were not talking TO you" It still hurts to remember that time.
  15. lol These are crackin me up. I did have someone tell me that he liked having friends like me because your kind is always jolly. *gasp* WHAT?! like Santa Clause? I was shocked for about a minute...Then looked him in the eye and said yeah but my kind dosent like elfs. and walked away. (he was a little short.not too bad just shorter then me)
  16. That is the key thing to remember. It is a tool, only a tool to HELP you lose weight. No magic band that MAKES you lose weight. I love my band it is a constant reminder that I can do it I have a friend to help me. And my friend the band lets me know that I cant eat donuts anymore And remindes me to eat slow and to pay attention to what I eat. So on top of that if I work out I can do more.
  17. LOL I was wondering who your doctor was. lol Everytime I see mine He wants to know what excercising I am doing.
  18. Six months ot six weeks? Mine only said six weeks.
  19. OK I got weighted and measured. I have dropped some inches. This last fill is doing great.
  20. The only Protein shakes I can handle are made with milk...I was drinking them before...but then I started belching during my work out where I was not sure if I was accidently going to PB. Maybe I can eat a boiled egg or something I just dont want it to be too much on my stomach when I work out. OH and thanks lilmissbandaid I started off small and now I am up to doing average of 14 min mile. I saw so many people my size working out more then I was and just kicked myself in the butt. If they can do it I can do it. Little bit of trial and error and I am still improving. I want to do the minnie marathon like loosingjustme did. maybe next year I can go do that. lol
  21. Thanks, It is a normal workout for me. Hour on the Elliptical then lift weights. I dont remember how much water I had that day but I have a 24oz bottle that I drink while working out It was pretty early in the morning So I didnt have too much before working out but I normally dont. If I eat before then I get sick to my stomach when working out.
  22. I got super lightheaded after working out last sunday. I was at the end of my weights after doing my normal hour on the Elliptical. And at the last machiene I suddnely got really dizzy. Has anyone else had this? I was ok after a few minutes but it made me a little worried.
  23. I sugest starting out small and working up to what you want to do. You may not be able to do a whole Tai-chi class but you can do what you can. then next time you can do more. I think you are suposed to take it easy for the first 6 weeks after surgery then when your dr gives you the ok you can do more.
  24. I was just talking to someone about wanting to do both belly-dancing and hula-dancing. I want to find a class. it sounds like fun
  25. You go girl! your almost there! After this last fill I just feel great! I hope I keep this restriction for a while.
