I'm like 5 months out and still get bad gas and it's not your normal toot it's like a sonic boom that lasts for 5 seconds and then clears the room. It's embarrassing but I'll take it to be healthy.

Well I figure it's time for an update. When I started my Weight loss Journey I was 511 pounds I am now right around 345 pounds, after my WL surgery (July 16 th) I had to have emergency back surgery (Aug 6 th ) which set me back a little and I just had to have my gallbladder out this past Thursday yes 3 surgeries in 5 months but I'm a total of right around 164 pounds for total weight loss and I'm very proud of that. I still have about 60 more pounds before I hit my goal but I feel i'll get there in no time. Everyday for me is still a learning opportunity, I feel like I can now eat anything there are obviously things I stay away from like high fats, high sugars, and high carbs. I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy the new me just yet because of all the surgeries but I'm hoping this last one was the charm and I can really start to enjoy this new life. There have been many ups and downs but I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm down. 3 shirt sizes and 6 pants sizes. I'm glad to hear from you all and hear all your great progress!

Big Wojo got a reaction from bigjimskiki in Things I will not miss...
I won't miss "man boobs" or blowing the crotch out of my pants or shorts.
I won't miss my buddies asking me to do some physical activity and me making an excuse or just say "dude I'm too fat"
I won't miss my 2yo boy wanting to play cars with me on the floor but every part of my body falling asleep from sitting on the floor.
I won't miss not fitting in 80% of the cars made now a days.
I won't miss not being able to ride rides at an amusement park.
I won't miss not being able to run without feeling like I'm going to die.
I won't miss getting into a boat and feeling like its going to sink like the titanic.
I won't miss going to a drive through and ordering a bunch of food for myself but acting like I have a note of stuff to order for other people. "Did you want hot sauce with that" "umm hm ya know they didn't say"...
I won't miss cutting the grass and feel like I'm going to die.
I won't miss doing the fat person stretch on all my shirts before putting them on.
I won't miss not drying my shirts because I didn't want them to shrink.
I would say I won't miss not fitting in the bathtub but I'm 6'6 so that's still not going to happen.
I won't miss the feeling that I always smell.
    Too name a few.

Big Wojo reacted to DLCoggin in Question about complications
The vast majority of folks never experience complications following bypass surgery. Estimates vary depending on which study you read but roughly 10% of bypass patients experience "minor" complications. Things like nausea, vomiting, dumping, marginal ulcers, wound infections and minor bleeding. Minor complications are not likely to land you back in the hospital. The incidence of "major" complications is somewhere between 1% and 5%. That would include things like blood clots, heart attack, serious infections or bleeding. There are always exceptions but the incidence of major complications drops dramatically after 30 days post-op.
There are always risks with any surgery but the odds are very much in your favor and you're gonna love the new you!!

Left side pain is pretty common it's where the surgeons do most of the work. Never hurts to call your surgeon and see what they say.

Big Wojo reacted to SoccerMomma73 in Question about complications
There's not really a way to predict who will or won't get ulcers. NSAIDS and tobacco increase your risk (as they do in people with normal stomachs) but I'm sure you've seen people on here who do neither and got ulcers. The VAST majority of us will not get an ulcer, but just as there is with people who have not had bariatric surgery, there's always a chance!
Best of luck with your decision!!!
