Scared of the protein powder....
I am using UNJURY, not bad at all, no smell either. I first ordered a sample kit then ordered the large in unflavored that can be used with soups, pudding, liquified fruit juices, or anything you want to add it to and strawberry sorbet which I mix with lemonade and frozen strawberries.

How much of the protein shake are you able to consume?
I can drink it all but it takes me about an hour!

Loving my full liquids stage, but oh, so time consuming!
Really?? Definitely every doctor has a different program, I've read of people going from Clear Liquids to pureed food. I am happy with the soups and juices, but it takes me forever to finish each drink! LOL. When was your surgery?

Loving my full liquids stage, but oh, so time consuming!
I am loving my second stage, for me it is full liquids... I am not much of a cook, but I am enjoying preparing my creamy veggie Soups and liquified fruit juices. As much as I am enjoying it, I would love to have someone full time to prepare this stuff for me when I go back to work... I am allowed to work from home but preparing this is time consuming... I will have to set up "short meetings" for myself to be able to go to the kitchen and prepare my stuff. Any tips to preparing things faster? I was thinking keep fruit already peeled and in cubes ready to throw in my magic bullet to save some time, but this would have to be done every morning and only for the day. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Blessings to all! Marisela

Vegetables?
I was told fruits and veggies are a VERY important part of my diet, or will be, I am still on clear liquids, but my nut made it clear that I shall not rely on vitamins and protein shakes alone, so I would be thrilled if I had fresh veggies delivered to my door. Enjoy them!

Have you tried the strawberry sorbet from Unjury? I mix it with lemonade and frozen strawberries and tastes yummy!!!

I need help what should i do?
Don't be afraid of a stricture, I am still on phase 1 (clear liquids) but my doctor did explain a stricture could happen and all they do is go in by endoscopy and "pop it" open. It shouldn't hurt as you will most likely be asleep through the process. You better check with your surgeon!!! Feel better soon.

Soups?
I am still on liquids also and soups are really broth, not the thick kind like tomato soup.

question.
Try PB2, it's powdered peanut putter, 85%less fat than the regular one, you can make your own peanut butter or add the powder to shakes for flavor. I found it at GNC, you can also order from Amazon.

March 2013 Post Op "A New Life 2013"
Hi Kathy, glad to hear you are doing well. I wasn't given anything to drink until day 3 which was the same day they took me off the morphine because it made me sooooooo sleepy, LOL. I am still doing the breathing exercises at home, honestly not on the hour, but I can take deep breaths whenever I want so I guess my lungs are doing great. Wishing you a speedy recovery and congrats on taking a seat on the losers bench!!!

My! How my taste has changed!
I love asparagus now, I hope I don't hate them soon, LOL... I am just one week post op! Hoping my new love for food is all fruits and veggies...

anyone use Dr. Zapata
and by the way, my surgeon did say that lapband or sleeve make reflux worse...
-
anyone use Dr. Zapata
Yes, I had reflux which we thought was caused by a hiatal hernia, I've never had lapband or sleeve, this is my first WLS but my surgeon said that bypass takes care of the reflux. I heard from his staff last week that a lot of people from VST come down here for surgery, I've never been to that forum, but I think it is the most "popular" surgery at the moment. For me, bypass was suggested because of the reflux. One week out, no regrets!!! Is Dr. Alvarez in TJ? or Mty?
