No Pre-Op Diet...?

Hey everyone :)

I had mentioned this in another post, but for some reason my surgeon didn't put me on a pre-op diet. They said I can eat normally, but lightly, the day before the surgery, and nothing after midnight. I don't think this is how it's usually done. Has anyone else not had a pre-op diet?

I did not have a pre-op diet... :D

I have many hoops to jump thru before I can be scheduled but I know I will have to be on strict liquids for two weeks before surgery.

Mine is similar I can still eat food meats, veggies, fruits, beans day before would be a liquid diet all day ;)

I didn't have to be on any certain diet for surgery. I was just to not eat anything after midnight before surgery. Every surgeon and their program is different. I had no issues and am thankful I wasn't on any major restrictions.

I too did not have a pre-op diet. I had many "last meals" Since my surgery was the day after Christmas and I was on a clear liquid diet on Christmas Day. I put white grape juice in a wine glass =-)

My surgery went well and I was totally ready, did not feel deprived and did great post op. I feel great and this was the best thing I have EVER done for myself!!!

Yes I have been on the Optifast program for 2 weeks now and for another 2 weeks until surgery. It consists of 5 shakes a day and 1 bar! Consider yourself lucky! It's very difficult. My best friend had this done and her doctors didn't do it either. I just think it depends on who's your doctor!
