Vitamin Schedule
I only take ONE A DAY gummies twice a day and the calcium citrate twice a day also, I take them when I wake up and before going to bed. The rest are shots once a month (iron and B12), oh and Zinc once a week but my pouch HATES it... it has been the only bump on my road.

March 2013 Post Op "A New Life 2013"
Have you tried NECTAR protein shakes? I got my samples last week and they are not bad at all, I keep at least one packet in my purse in case of "emergency" which means being away from home, the fruit ones are good, just add water and ice!

You can still lose weight without exercise, just cut calories...

Tired
Totally normal!!! You should rest, but don't forget to sip and walk as much as you can. I was in the hospital for 5 days and day 3 was that day for me, I could not even open my eyes but my doctor insisted that I sip and walk...all I wanted was to sleeeeeep!! You will feel better soon!

Tired
Apple juice or gatorade?? that used to happen to me right after surgery, on my first days home, gatorade would wake me up, doctor said it was probably the sugar levels dropping.

Protein That Taste Good!
UNJURY is not bad at all, I ordered the starter kit first, it comes with many samples and then I ordered larger amounts of my favorites, I buy online. You should try whatever gives you a chance to try samples first.

no weight loss
By the time I got home from the hospital I had lost 13 lbs... Be patient, it will start moving... don't forget to sip all day, I used to set up a timer every 10 min so I wouldn't forget to sip!

What do you think is the most important factor when choosing a surgeon?
I would have chosen "all of the above", every single one of the items you mention is equally important to me.

Questions - Sleeve vs. Bypass
My surgeon suggested bypass because I had reflux and I never argued my way out of it as he is the expert. However I did a looooot of research and just as Rabear mentions, there are many cases in which they have to go from lapband or sleeve to bypass, which made me think by-pass was the smartest decision. Also bypass has been performed for more than 36 years so all the side effects and long terms risks have been studied for a longer time.

Mexico
for some reason when I paste the links it looks like they won't work, it is www.gastricsleevesurgeon.com and www.mexicalibariatric.com Hope they work. The sites and the testimonials helped me big time in my decision making.

Mexico
I had my surgery in Mexico as I live in Mexico. Excellent experience, no complications, no nausea, no vomiting, it has been a great experience and would recommend my surgeon and his team to everyone. He has many patients that come from the US and Canada. His name is Dr. Alberto Aceves, you could read more about it at http://gastricsleevesurgeon.com and at http://mexicalibariatric.com He is located in Mexicali, just 90 min east from San Diego.

Annoyed and frustrated
They are just scared and worried and it is normal, but I totally understand how you feel. My dad was super supportive the whole time, actually my whole family was, but a couple of weeks before surgery he started asking like, why don't you this or that diet? and I was like, I've tried them all... and I actually sat down that night and made a list of all the diets I'd been through, nuts, doctors, clinics, pills, gyms, classes, etc so the next time he would say something I would show it to him, but fortunately he did not, I guess my mom calmed him down and said they should just be supportive, so believe me, it is NORMAL! and you should be happy that they care so much. You will do great and they will happy for you the whole time!
