  1. Amazing!!! Congratulations, you look great!
  2. Hi rookie, welcome to the site, I am also kind of new, although my profile says "advanced member" LOL, my surgery date is March 11, I can't wait!!!! I have found this site EXTREMELY helpful, you will find all sorts of info. I've actually started shopping so I can be as prepared as possible based on tips I've gotten out of this site, plus stuff my doctor has recommended. Good luck in your journey, all of us pre-ops are anxious to be posting post op experiences. Have fun!
  3. I've only tried the grape frost (I love anything with grape flavor, LOL) but also bought blueberry and fruit punch, I just wanted to make sure it did not have a terrible after taste, and it doesn't. They are pretty expensive though, one large bottle costs 5+ dlls, you can buy a 12 pack for 65 dlls or so. I know many doctors recommend this brand, so I am assuming it is one of the best out there. At GNC they sell them separately, so you can try one before buying a whole pack.
  4. I am still pre-op but isopure fruit drinks have 40 g of protein and taste like gatorade, are those not allowed to complete your protein intake?
  5. You look AMAZING!!! Congrats on your new YOU!!!
  6. Congratulations!!!! Can't wait to be able to post same kind of progress, this kind of information is very encouraging for those of us who are still on our way to surgery date!!! You both look amazing! You are right, hard work does pay off!! Congrats again
  7. Congrats on the weight loss, I am jealous LOL!!! I will ask my doctor about the chewables, he recommended the gummies but I'd hate it if they make me throw up... I can't wait for my surgery dateeeeeeee, 3/11 please come soon!!
  8. Bummer!!!... I hope I don't have to go to liquid vitamins.. I've heard they taste awful!!!
  9. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has tried the Proti-Diet products, I was once on a protein diet with all soups, drinks, etc on a similar presentation and the after taste was H O R R I B L E... Any reviews on Proti? Amazon has them as high rated but I rely more on this forum. Any input will be greatly appreciated... I am pre-op, surgery date is March 11, I am stocking up!!
  10. I bought the one a day gummies and the citracal chewables, they are not bad at all... have you tried those?
  11. I've also been shopping a little bit, bought some broth, vitamins, crystal light, ISOPURE (fruit), apple juice (low sugar), white grape juice. I don't want to overstock as I've heard taste sometimes changes so I'd rather try a little bit of everything and then buy some of what I can tolerate/like best. ISOPURE (looks like gatorade) is pretty expensive but has 40g of protein per bottle, my doctor recommends it, so I guess it is great for post op. Anyone else tried something different? I can't wait for 3/11 !!!!!
  12. Best wishes..... in my prayers! Keep us all posted
  13. 6 years??? how are you doing? how much weight lost? have you managed to keep it off? I am pre-op, scheduled for March 11, I am not scared at all about the surgery but scared about the new life style and many changes in habits that I will have to adjust to, so any info you can share will certainly be encouraging!
  14. As soon as you start typing an option of font, size, colors, etc are added as a bar beside your picture. Found it?
  15. What about pureeing food?
  16. Thanks for sharing.. I am still pre-op but I feel like I am nesting LOL! I just went shopping today (36 days before surgery) and got the Isopure drinks to try the flavors and kind of start knowing what I will like (although I've heard taste and preferences change after surgery) so I don't want to over-stock but I can't help the feeling of wanting to be as prepared as possible. I bought low sugar apple juice, white grape juice, chicken and beef fat free - low sodium broth, ISOPURE drinks (grape, fruit and raspberry) they have 40g of Protein per bottle. What else would you suggest I stock up with?
  17. I am so happy... my dad just came back from costco and he got the magic bullet for me, I had only mentioned it once that it would be great to have for my pureed food, shakes, etc, and he just got it for me, so thoughtful of him. So anyway, besides the many recipes that come along with the bullet, can anyone share useful recipes for post-op stages? I already used it for my dinner Protein shake, it is great!!! I am pre-op, scheduled for March 11... can't wait! So, recipes anyone? Thanks!
  18. I am also scheduled for March 11, woohooo!!! getting close, I am soooooo excited!!
  19. I am still pre-op but my doctor did explain this could happen, and to "open" it, they don't need another surgery, they go in by endoscopy with something like a little balloon to pop it open. He did make it sound like a no brainer and like it is not a big deal, so don't worry. I've included you in my prayers, God is with you and he will make sure you feel better soon. Keep us posted on your progress...
  20. Can't wait either!!! I am very excited but also terrified of all the changes that will happen, good luck!
  21. I am also scheduled for March 11...
  22. I am still pre-op but have been thinking of buying this book : http://www.amazon.com/Eating-Well-After-Weight-Surgery/dp/1569244537/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359835506&sr=8-1&keywords=bariatric+cookbook I hope it helps you...
  23. Congrats on having your date set!!! Let's definitely share journeys... looking forward to a new life!
  24. I am pre-op but have been using LACTAID for a very long time becuase I am lactose intolerant, I wouldn't drink a glass of it by itself, but for shakes or cereal it tastes good.
