  1. You want honesty. The day after surgery was to this day the only day I regretted having the surgery. I cried for half the day I was in pain. That morning the pump was removed and I couldn't drink let alone drink meds and walk?! I had cried for 3/4 of the day. Then it became mind over mood. I had to drink my medicine to get pain relief to be comfortable to go home. Maybe by 4-5pm my pain was controlled my gas was minimal and I was in and out sleep. But 3 day day when I went home I was comfortable and 3 days at home in and out of sleep was enough I wanted to feel normal and stopped my pain meds at 3 days home. I wasn't in pain anymore either I was okay. Sore but okay. I've had a csection and this day after RNY was worse than csection. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  2. That's great news! I can't wait to be overweight!!! Lol I'm on my way! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  3. You look amazing!!!! Keep doing what your doing girl! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  4. I was before surgery. I took my last pill two days before surgery. Then this at my 6 months appt I found out I was low again and put back on for a longer time frame. Last time was a 12 week run, this time I'm going for 21 weeks. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  5. nectar is a God send. I bought all the sample packs and that one was good. I bought the big strawberry kiwi. DELISH!!!! I love that I get Water and Protein in one and I smell the whey but don't taste it. Love love love it! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  6. Starting drinking Protein shakes. Add one right when you wake up or mid day. And eat every 3 hours low fat high protein. That's what I did when I started the program to get surgery. Limit the bread and Pasta. Drink 64 oz of Water and switch to diet dr pepper while you still can. Good luck! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  7. Thank you Kristy! You are such a supporter! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  8. Thank you all for the incredible support. I don't think I've shared that that left side pic with anyone. I was so horrified and that's not even my highest weight. :| I didn't take a pic on day of surgery, but knew I would regret it if I didn't have a before pic. 3 days post is as "before" as I was willing to capture. Lol Thank you all again! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  9. I feel the same way. I feel like I've become super emotional these past 5ish months its seeing the change and how limited I was. I still have "fat brain" I still see that bigger me and still have this Wow moment when I grab a size 20 or XL cloths and have to see if it even fits. Congrats on your current weight loss! Everyday is great! It's weird to get excited to go to the gym?!! Lol. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  10. Thank you Anniesmom! Prayers is always welcomed and greatly appreciated. God has given more strength than I could have ever asked for. I am overwhelmed today with how much I've changed body and life perspective. That pic yesterday is one to reflect on. At only 11 lbs shy of 400lbs I was so limited in life in every way! Thank you worm! That for your unconditional support. Xx. I have needed this site and loved sharing my journey with others. It's not easy but so worth it. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  11. 8 months ago today I had my surgery. I wasn't nervous, scared, or had one doubt. I was nauseous as all hell from not eating and drinking magnesium junk. I kissed my baby and my husband drove me to the hospital. We had a great talk and shared laughs. He was hungry but said he would wait until after I was taken back to eat (whata guy!) I checked in and still not a butterfly in my regular size stomach. I put on my royal gown and got iv and met the crew. My husband never left my side until the end. I remember my surgeon telling me I was his second surgery of the day and he was ready. I don't know why, but that brought comfort:) Then I was out. I woke up in pain but it was quickly managed. I couldn't believe after all the time life of being morbidly obese I was now on the other side. It's been a crazy journey since. I've lost 140 lbs. I went from size 30 to 20 a 3-4x top to XL top. I feel great and love my chance to be healthy. Thanks for reading I know this long, but I can't believe how fast 8 months has gone. First pic was my first day home from hospital and second was yesterday on a mountain hike:) life's good on the top! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  12. That would be great! Walking buddies would be a great option. Be proud of your weight loss no matter the number. It's not easy so be proud. Congrats on the 2 months!!! My email is jt4bsb@hotmail.com We can keep in touch and plan a walking buddy thing when you're ready! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  13. I like carrots, pineapple, kale, ginger Carrots, apples, ginger, cucumber Kale, broccoli, cucumber, ginger, carrots, and pineapple is good too Play with stuff you'd be surprise .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  14. Since juicing is so popular right now I did ask my surgeon if it would be good or not for me to do it. He said I could for my veggies but not like a weight loss program so I've been doing once every 2-3 days I have a jack la lanne one. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  15. I feel this often and just think its because of all the Water. I never considered uti I don't experience pain just feels like I have to pee again. I will be more cautious next time. I would suggest wait it out see if it persist and if it does see your dr. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  16. Relax. Take your pain meds. Walk as much as you can without over doing it. If you sleep more than you would like forgive yourself. I had no energy for a couple weeks. Even a shower took all my energy. Just focus on water, walking, and resting. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  17. I'm doing good. Feel really good today. I walked mt Rubidoux yesterday morning and a mile at night. Feels good to have the energy to be semi active. How are you? How post op are you? I'm 8 months in a week:) my biggest struggle has been Water and Protein and because I have the worlds worst schedule for everything my exercise has been effected. But I'm committed to myself and work out or walk at all time possible. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  18. Hi ladies! I'm in so cal (riverside) I had my surgery in July. Would love to connect with people in my area:) .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  19. Accept it lol. It sucks I've heard that whole topic once the skin has passed that point of no return it is what is. I've been using good lotion and working them out but I don't have high expectations they will get less flabby. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  20. I have found my nectar strawberry kiwi to fulfill my Protein need and not disgust me. It's Water base and doesn't have after taste. It does smell like whey protein but doesn't taste. Works for me:) .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  21. Lol I did!/ still do! I laugh because I feel like this side effect was never discussed. I broke out like crazy. I asked surgeon and it is because the change in hormones. He felt it wasn't a big deal and eventually it will settle down. But what I have found to help me is Clinique 3 step I never required high end products vs whatever i can pick up at target but its helped me. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  22. I was down 80-90 in the month I hit 6 month mark. 100 isn't unrealistic what my surgeon says the more you have to lose it seems to come off fast "at first" but then we level off and lose at average rate. So if you don't 100 by 6 months I wouldn't think twice about it. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  23. I heard of people on here blending it which would work. For the price, size making two or three meals and the protein... Can't go wrong! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
  24. I am having a hard time adjusting too. Even compliments makes me feel awkward. I don't feel comfortable naked I cringe when my husband wants to hold me because I don't want him to feel all the fat. I obsess over my appearance of a double chin when sometimes it's there and sometimes it not. I still see all 389 lbs of the old me. It's hard! But we are human. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
