Anybody else with low vitamin D?

The Dr.'s office called and in addition to my iron and vitamin B being low, I am also low on vitamin D. They have called me in a presciption. Anyone else have this?

Before surgery... Maybe a year ago I was vitamin D deficient... Probably still am but I take extra Vitamins anyway

I was diagnosed with vitamin d def and B12 deficiency before my first lap band surgery 3 1/2 years ago. Get my B12 shot once a month and take my D every day....won't have a post RNY level for about 6 weeks so well see if my dose is doing okay or not!

Yes..I was after surgery. .on prescription now..have to be tested again in two weeks

I was before surgery. I took my last pill two days before surgery. Then this at my 6 months appt I found out I was low again and put back on for a longer time frame. Last time was a 12 week run, this time I'm going for 21 weeks.

Yup! I take 5,000 IUs of Vitamin D3 everyday.

Yep! I'm pre-op so I'm on a prescription for the next 8 weeks; then I'll start a daily vitamin

Me too. I got the call last Friday. They want my Primary care dr to treat it. I'm seeing him Saturday but picked up some D in the meantime. I was diagnosed with D deficiency two years ago, too. The teatment is fairly simple... Prescription for a week or so and admonition to keep taking your vitamins. Also, sitting in the sunshine is supposed to help. I hope it's warm after my surgery. I plan to spend my recovery time reading on the deck and walking with my fat little dachshund (he needs some exercise, too).

I was def of vitamin D before my surgery and had been taking 5,000 iu of it for over a year. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and all I am taking at this point is a B-12 and 2 muti vitamins a day. I am seeing my nutrionist next Tuesday and I am going to request Vitamin D from her. It is really important to keep up with our vitamins. I am really sure I still am low on vitamin D.

Yep... Taking 50,000 units once a week x 8 weeks plus 6,000 per day.

Yes at my 3 month post op. I take 50, 000 iu pill once a month.
