  1. Yeah I was told no driving while on pain meds. I am not taking them as frequently now. Maybe once a day if needed and to help me sleep at night. You've had 3 kids. I'm assuming the pain from birthing children makes this seem like nothing, lol
  2. I had my surgery a week ago tomorrow. I hadn't been able to shave my legs (bending over=BIG OUCH!) since the night before surgery. Took a shower tonight and with my foot on the side of the tub I was able to shave!!!!!
  3. YAY!!!! Congrats love. I am six days out and waiting for my 1 week out to see if I have lost anything in the last 7 days ::fingers crossed::
  4. Today was first day of soft foods.I am 5 days post op. Here is what I ate. Protein shake...8 oz took about 2 hours to do it Water sip sip sipping all day pureed moist pork maybe 1 oz (I chew chew chewed) and 2 oz of the taco Soup from this website at 6:30 and 2 oz at 10pm currently drinking 50/50 Isopure melon and water to try to get to 50 grams of protein for the day No dumping....I am not neccesarily feeling hungry but I am not feeling full either. I'm just ok. Like I could not eat and be fine. But early on today where my largest incision is (if I am looking down, below my right breast) all surrounding it it has been hurting. I walked about 30 minutes today. I have been mostly on time with the pain meds today. But this evening before I went to the store with my sister (she was to carry the groceries) I stood up from my chair and a crippling pain above my largest incision going up to the little one above it. When I got out of the passenger side after I stood up the crazy sharp pain all in that area brought me to tears. I managed to get to the store, I embarrassingly got into a electric cart (never had to do that BEFORE surgery) and proceeded with my shopping My lovely sister helped me with everything (I am sad my family is flying home tomorrow night) and mercifully by the time I got back to the car, my sister unloaded groceries I was able to stand with only a pain, likeI needed more meds. I don't know what is going on. I am scared because I am going to be alone as of tomorrow night. What do I do if the sharp pain returns tomorrow?
  5. my nutrionist said if you can make your own its better....just doesn't last as long because of the preservatives
  6. I can smell grease in food now. I am 5 days post op also and have NO urge to chew n' spit. I can understand where that can come from as my surgeon lets us go to pureed food at day 5. I am not hungry, but I know I need to eat. meh. I was visiting my cousin who makes INCREDIABLE food. But when she was making country ham had NO urge to eat it. My brain and my old stomach knew how good it tastes...but I could smell the grease and it turned my pouch. Good luck!
  7. I completely agree! I am so thankful for this surgery...and things aren't particularily tempting anyway right. 5 days post op and I am now allowed pureed foods. Le sigh. I am so excited! I am glad you found that lit and shared it with us.
  8. I take bariatric advantage berry. It's pretty good and specifically developed for us. Good luck!

That is a really good idea, thanks!
  10. So I start pureed foods tomorrow...And I have a whole cookbook of recipes (eating week after weight loss surgery) and most of them say it's ok to puree.and eat weeks 1~4. I am nervous about trying anything but soups...but I am excited about the recipes.
  11. You look fab darling
  12. Getting a planet fitness membership soon! I am excited to stay walking at the gym. Been trying to walk outside but between the heat and the storms (I live in North Carolina) I have only done it once since getting discharged 2 days ago. But I was great about walking in the hospital.
  13. I almost wish I had your problem. I am feeling full all the time and hardly eating anything (4 days post op) drinking water is making me full and a little sick to my stomach. I am getting maybe 25 ounces a day. I am tired of having the strong dark yellow urine thing going on.
  14. Exactly! So confused! Cause I am still a little gassy. The taco soup/chili recipe that was posted on this site is the first thing I am going to try pureed. My dad and sister are still in town and it sounds a little like the food we would eat together while watching a football game. Eagles preseason here we come! But I am substituting the corn for rotel tomatoes and sauteing onions. Super excited about that.
  15. I had my surgery on Wednesday (August 15) I tried to get fluids in as much as possible. First day was only ice chips, second and third was ice chips, sips of water, diluted juice (didn't.do it, too afraid of dumping) broth (I preferred the veggie broth to chicken as chicken broth tasted like salt) and sf popsicles. I was allowed 60 cc every hour of one of these things. I am on full liquids as of yesterday. Protein shakes taste kinda gross now, but I am forcing it down. I am not feeling hungry but I am making myself get it in. On my first day I think I got maybe 45 g of protein in, today maybe the same. When I do ingest the unjury soup and protein shakes it takes all day! And I'm ingesting about 2 ounces at a time because I don't feel I need it. And I'm sip sip sipping all the time. But I feel uncomfortable. If that what full is going to feel like? I start my pureed foods tomorrow evening. Getting anxious about food getting stuck even when I chew 30 times. Sorry about the rambling. Just wanted some thoughts.
  16. Nyquil has alcohol. My surgeon said no Nyquil. But please feel better soon.
  17. Surgery went well. I'm incredibly sore, but I did my walking and it's not actually gas pain. It's mostly this one incision that is causing the pain. When did peoples incisions stop hurting so badly?
  18. It sucks. The reason they do this is because it is "elective surgery" not a medical necessity. Just because it will give us a better life...doesn't matter I guess.
  19. Mom made it.Praise be the non-rev Gods, lol. T-minus 4.5 hours until surgery. Couldn't sleep anymore. I will post as soon as I can.
  20. I am freaking out. I am stressed out because the surgery is tomorrow. I am so excited and ready to do this...but now I am stressing about about being stressed and it raising my blood pressure. I work for US Airways and my Dad flew in last night (we travel standby) but my mom is having a rough time of it. She may or may not get here tonight which means I may or may not get to see her before I go under. I am scared about not seeing her before surgery because even though I am healthy (aside from being overweight) I know there is a .03% I won't make it off that table. Knowledge isn't always power.
