Well I wanted to post to the people that helped me thru this. I am down under 250lbs now and almost 2 months post op. I posted before that my dream was to become a flight medic. Well I qualify now for the rotor wing weight requirements and . . . . Had my interview yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They say I should know by Friday and it seemed like both the director of nursing and the critical care director liked me. So, say a prayer, cross a finger whatever you can do for me I would appreciate.

I feel pretty good. I'm glad I did it I'm thankful I made it thru, now my journey begins.

Today, has to be a great moment for me in my journey so far. My seven year old daughter comes and wraps her arms around me, and as she noticed that she can hug me and her arms fit around me,she looked up and said momma, I can finally hug you and squeeze my arms around you. You are getting skinny and I am so proud of you. I just teared up and said thank you baby, I just felt so good to hear my kid say such a nice thing. What a moment in my journey!! 62 pounds down so far, and feeling good.

i week preop about 270lbs
3.5 wks postop at 234lbs

Think I need therapy to believe this.. Sorry for the vast grossness!

I was walking in the parking lot & stopped for a co worker who was backing out. She stopped, stuck her head out the window & said she didn't recognize me because I've gotten so "TINY"!!!! Now, I've been called a lot of things but nevah TINY.. made my day! I'm not tiny but sure as hell like hearing it. I was like ... Say it again & now into the recorder!

Or the very FIRST time in my life, I fit into a complimentary shirt with a company logo. This was given to me by the gym.. The max size they have is an XXL. I fit into an XL. I want to cry and laugh till I don't know which is which. I want to post a pic but I feel I look hugely gross.

My mom calls them her bingo flags.
You have to actually picture an old lady yelling BINGO while waving her card in the air. LOL it cracked me up when she demonstrated for me.
Yeah...I guess you had to be there...

Just does not seem worth it to me. Believe me, I enjoyed my wine before surgery. But I have worked too to get to this point & I am not tempted one bit. It is just liquid calories & my buzz right now is how great I feel.

I'm 4 days out and sex is furthest from my mind. My god if someone touched me right now I'd punch em lol

Dumping is not universal and vomiting is only one of the possible symptoms. I was seven months out before I had an occurence of dumping (from eating some red grapes) and I have never had any vomiting. Light headedness, dizzyness, "the shakes", diarrhea - all possible symptoms of dumping. More importantly, RNY is about much, much more than dumping. You'll be just fine and you're gonna love the new you!!

When I ordered that book, I also ordered the weight loss surgery vcookbook for dummies. That's the best guidebook! Has everything you should know from pre to when you're on real foods. Even tells you how to set up your kitchen and what you need in it. That's gonna be my go to book. Bringing with me today for nutritionist appt and when I see Dr. Should suggest everyone gets it to his patients.

It has some really good info for post op too. recipes, support, exercise, meal plans, etc. I highly recommend this book! It talks about stalls too! It's really reassuring for those at all stages.

Good luck on your journey! It can be difficult sometimes but keep your eye on the prize.
