  1. I am very sorry that you're going through such a rough time.
  2. So how many calories and carbs are you eating now or are you not counting? I guess I don't get what you're doing differently...most of are eating a high Protein, low carb diet. Isn't that what you just described?
  3. Thanks peatie...that's very interesting to know!
  4. At about 2 months I started eating salads and have had no problems. Broccoli is one of the few veggies I eat.....but I sure miss corn which was my favorite veggie besides broccoli. I've had zucchini and squash several times too. That's pretty yummy especially sauteed in a pan with some onion and bell pepper..or grilled. I LOVE cucumber and tomato salads in vinegar also. Man here it is almost 1 am and now I'm hungry! lol
  5. I was told none for the first month. I drink probably 2-3 large cups a day at work...
  6. Congratulations! Best wishes on your surgery!
  7. Yeah..you're only 5 months out...not 6! That's great loss...a good bit more than me and I am only a week behind you!

ok...that settles that. I won't ever be having this done. LOL
  9. Ditto what everybody else said!

    Did it hurt?
  11. YAY!! You're FINALLY here! lol Congratulations to both you and your hubby..I didn't realize he was being sleeved too!
  12. Carrie, do you think it just might take your body time to adjust to eating more "normal" foods and not so much liquids? Didn't you say you've pretty much been on liquids for quite some time? I've read others who have said they've experienced diarrhea early out but then it went away .
  13. know what I miss? sunflower seeds!
  14. Try amazon.com!
  15. I think you're doing great..men tend to lose a little quicker than women. I lost 20 lbs my first month post op and yes it slowed down for me after that. Some people continue to lose at that rate, but ehh....I'm not one of them! lol
  16. Yeah I'm in the camp of "a carb is a carb".
  17. P.S. This is an old thread that someone resurrected.
  18. The only ones I've eaten so far have been the Atkins bars...every one I look at is just too high in carbs for me. Maybe when I'm further out.
  19. What kind of symptoms are you experiencing?
  20. Carrie, I didn't mean to imply at all that you were abusing drugs! I was simply offering a suggestion that the medication in combination with out of whack hormones that we all experience after surgery and weight loss might be affecting your mood. It was only out of concern and I was just trying to help.
  21. I don't really understand dumping but I don't think I've ever experienced anything like that.
  22. No drain here! My doc doesn't use them.
  23. kalew...that's me too. It's directly related to my cycle. It drives me absolutely batty. I also have a lot of constipation and usually end up taking a laxative once a week just to be able to go. For example...the last few days were ovulation time. The scale went UP 4 lbs over that time...I could see the fluids in my ankles. I took a laxative night before last and also took some diurex to help with that fluid build up and this morning that 4 lbs was gone and I had lost another lb. I expect maybe I'll lose a lb or so over the next week and then nothing again as I get closer to my period. I tell you one thing though...I'm really learning alot about my body through all of this. lol
  24. Garv...just keep telling yourself this stage is TEMPORARY. Take it one day at a time...or hell even one hour at a time if you need to. Drink a lot of water or water with sugar free flavoring added to it. That helps fight the hunger. My fav is koolaid sugar free grape and fruit punch.
