I still feel FAT
It's way too early for you to be feeling discouraged! I know patience is very hard to come by...I deal with that a lot myself especially when I see other people who were sleeved around the same time as me losing a lot more than me. I start to feel discouraged and then I make myself snap out of it! It's going to start coming off and you're going to start noticing it. Hang in there!

4 Months Post Op
I changed my ticker to show total loss instead of just post -op loss.

4 Months Post Op
Jane...you're absolutely right. I was reflecting the other day on how much LESS stressful everyday life is without all of those little worries that most people never even think about or have ever had to worry about. I think the best word I can come up with to describe it is that it's just so LIBERATING! Btw...I hit the halfway mark yesterday...and today down another lb...so I'm over the hump and on the way downhill....woohoo!

Just when you thought it was safe....
Oh Maddie...I'm so sorry to hear this. Just when you thought things were finally looking up to. Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it, fix whatever the problem is and you can move FORWARD and feel GOOD! I'll be thinking about you and please update us as soon as you can.

4 Months Post Op
And what a 4 months it has been! There have been so many changes...all good. I really have nothing negative to say....with the exception of the fact that I only lose weight two weeks out of the month. That annoys the crap out of me! Let's see...some of the positive changes. 1. I fit into my seat at the superdome comfortably with room to spare. I don't feel like I'm taking up TOO much space anymore. 2. I can walk about a mile to a mile and a half at a time now without my back screaming at me that payback is a bitch. 3. I fit in booths at restaurants with room to spare and don't have to say...Can you seat us at a table instead? 4. I can shop in regular stores now...no more Lane Byrant or plus size departments. 6. All my blood work came back perfect....normal levels in everything. 7. Blood Pressure is PERFECT. 8. Sex is way more fun..and while I've always loved sex, it had really gotten to be uncomfortable in a few ways in certain positions. No more of that....we're having the best sex of our lives. Oh, the other half of that "we" is my hubby, btw...hehe 9. I FEEL GOOD! Now for some stats. When I decided to have surgery back in the middle of March I weighed 292 lbs. I still cringe when I write that....that's quite embarrassing to admit. I lost 24 lbs pre-op. I was 268 the day of surgery. Today I am at 215. I am ONE stinking lb away from being halfway to goal. I started out wearing a tight 24W pants and a 2x or 3x shirt. Today I wear a size 18 pants and a regular XL shirt. I've had to go shopping....all my clothes are too big! Inches lost: Starting Now Loss: Waist: 49" 40" 9" Neck: 15" 13" 2" Bicep: 18.5" 14.5" 4"x2 =8" Forearm: 12.5" 11" 1.5"x2=3" Chest: 52" 45" 7" Hips: 60" 49.5" 10.5" Thigh: 34.5" 28" 6.5"x2=13" Calves: 18.5" 17" 1.5"x2=3" Total Inches Lost: 55.5!! Weight Loss By Month: High Weight 292 Surgery Weight 268 1st Month 248 2nd Month 234 3rd Month 223 4th Month 215 That's pretty close anyway...did that from memory. Anyway, I know this is kind of long...but I like stats. I'm very happy with my surgery choice and I would do it all over again 10 times over. My loss might be slower than some...and I have experienced some discouragement this past month with the scale not moving...but that's emotional rather than practical. I do TRY to keep it in perspective and remain practical...not always possible! I love my sleeve!

Finally found the food tracker that works for me
I've not tried that one....I use myfitnesspal.com and I love it.

Thinking about sleeve plication!
Not to mention if it's sewn shut / stapled whatever...wouldn't that cut off blood supply to that tissue and eventually kill it? Wouldn't that tissue die? I'm no doctor, but that seems quite plausible to me.
-
Thinking about sleeve plication!
I'm not sure why people think this new plication is "less invasive". They still do it laparascopically...they are still stapling your stomach. The only difference is with plication they are folding accordion style (from what I've read) and then stapling it off...without actually removing a portion of it. I really don't see how it could be reversible....after having all that for any length of time, I somehow doubt removing those staples that the stomach is going to just go back to being it's old normal big self. Furthermore, I'm not sure why anyone would WANT to reverse it. But I keep reading "less invasive" and that's what I really don't get. Can someone explain this to me?

I'm pre-op and the negative comments worry me!
I'm one who wrote about my weight loss having slowed way down and being in a stall.....that was just me venting. I KNOW the weight will come off...it simply has to. I have to learn to be patient and learn that my body is going to do it the way IT wants to do it. A big part of my frustration is that I've learned that I will only lose weight two weeks out of the month. That has to do with my cycle. I don't know if it's hormonal or what...but that just plum drives me nuts. From mid cycle (ovulation time) until a few days into my period, that scale is NOT moving. I guess I retain a lot of water during that time...don't know what else it's doing but let me tell you...I could just fast for that entire two week period and I don't think that scale would move. MADDENING! Now...aside from my frustration....I absolutely LOVE my sleeve and have zero zero zero regrets. I never for one second felt an ounce of remorse or wish I had chosen a different surgery or whatever. I'm down 75 lbs from my high weight in the middle of March and I feel fabulous. My husband says I'm so damned sexy he just can't keep his hands off of me...sometimes that is NOT a good thing..hehehe. There have been so many changes and all of them positive. I would do it all over again 10 times over! I'm 3.5 lbs away from my halfway mark and will be 4 months out on the 28th. I'll take it.

One month out today.....
Wow....is all of that post-op or does it include loss from a pre-op diet? That's FANDAMNTASTIC!!
-
9 days post-op. There's no stopping me now
And she's off to the races! WooHoo...that is an awesome start! Congratulations!
-
So when does the sipping stop?
I'd say whenever you're comfortable drinking more normally. I was able to drink almost normally right from the get go. If drinking normal size sips vs little baby sips causes you discomfort then don't do it.
-
Lean Cuisine Anyone?
I haven't eaten post-op....what are the nut stats on the one you ate? Calories? Protein? Carbs?
-
So excited to be here!
Welcome to the boards and congrats on your decision. I'm just about 4 months out and I love my sleeve. Zero problems and zero complications. Best of luck to you!

Need advice
cwalker...I'm in the same place as you. I'm trying so hard not to get discouraged. I'm journaling my food....I keep my carbs very low around 30g per day. I get in all of my Protein plus some (usually) and all my fluids. I don't eat any Pasta, rice, bread, potatoes. I don't exercise as much as I should but a hell of a lot more than I did before, but I have started walking and I bought a treadmill. Before surgery I was pretty much sedentary because of my back problems. Everything I did hurt my back and I couldn't even walk around the block. So walking a mile to a mile and a half and even doing a little bit of jogging in there is a big improvement. My only cheats and they aren't very often..maybe once or twice a month is a couple of drinks or if we go out to the movies I'll have some popcorn. That's it. I lost 24 lbs pre-op 20 lbs the first month post op 15 lbs the second month 10 lbs the third month and so far this month like 5 lbs. I'm going off of memory there so I may be off a bit...but the bottom line is this sucks. LOL
