Am I Crazy??
I still feel like I eat to much at times or the wrong foods but over all I eat lots less than I did before being banded and I sure wouldn't think of it as a binge anymore. Its more like a really big snack.LOL!!! You will do great with your band and it will help you eat less and also there will be some things that you just can't eat at all anymore. For me its bread.I just don't do it cause it doesn't work well with my band.

Anyone for fish or is that t.m.i?
You should take a few more days or even another week off work if you can. You don't need to over do yourself to much and you will if you return to early. take it easy and slow you will be better off if you do. Congrats to the both of you on getting banded and I wish you both lots of success.

Christina I'm so glad your doing good. I hope you will see that scale change but just remember its how you feel and how your clothes are fitting you that matters. I know I went through a few weeks that I wasn't seeing the scale go down but my pants were falling off... your losing inches girl... and they count. Keep up with those good bandster rules you are following and you will be well on your way being an even bigger success than you already are !!!

Water consumption after surgery
My dr. said try to get at least 3 oz of water in every hour... but you really just need to continually sip all you can all day long. Go slow and you will be able to start getting in a little more each day!!! Congratulations on getting banded.

Why do some Dr's say that the FDA will withdraw support of Lap-Bands?
I personally think that if you weigh the pros and cons of the band or GBP you will see that there are more deaths and complications will GBP. I will say that yes there are and can be compications with any surgery and over time some will have complications and some won't... But the complications I could face with my band are far fewer than the complications I was having as an over weight and unhealthy person who would probably die of heart failure before I hit 60 years of age. This band is changing my life for the better each day and I'm willing to take the risks verses the alternative of dieing young!!!

well it's over and I'm home from the hosp.
Welcome home May and things will get better for you with each day. you will look back in a few weeks and be glad you did this and that the hardest recovery time is over. The first 6 weeks were really hard for me too.just keep telling your self that you did this for a reason and that was to be healthy and that you made the right choice. You will soon see those pounds coming off on the scale and the pain you feel now will be a distant memory compared to the way you will be starting to feel about the new you to come!!! Hang in there!!!

Special Occasions
Holidays can be hard.... I find that what works for me is to see what foods are available but still try and make the best choices of whats there. I won't say that I don't eat something I shouldn't but I deffinatly eat lots less of it. I feel just as satisfied with eating a little of what I want as I would if I could eat alot of it. As for drinking with meals I never started doing it. I drink a cocktail once in a while before dinner but none after dinner. If I know I'm going out with friends and they will be doing more drinking than eating I will eat before I leave my house and by the time I get to a resteraunt to have a few drinks its time enough after a meal that I can drink with them. Drinking and eating doesn't work well for me anyway... I can remember right after my first fill I was in a resteraunt and had ordered water. I drank some of it before dinner but I took a bite of food and then before I thought about it and out of old habits grabed my water and took a big drink and had it swallowed before I could stop myself... BIG problem it caused my food which was chicken to get stuck and like Paula said it made me PB and I felt like I couldn't eat anything after that. It completley ruined my dinner and I felt awful. I now order water and as soon as my food comes I sit it on the other side of the table or at least out of reach... this way if I reach for it it gives me time to remember it is a no no... I think the longer you ae banded some things do get easier.. for me drinking inbetween meals has become no problem... eating the wrong things is a problem some... but over all since being banded I eat less and make better food choices!!!
