  3. Vanesa You sound like a postop bandster to me. The first week was really hard for me. gasX was my friend. The pain you are experiencing in your port area is do to the fact that your port is attached to a muscle. It will definatly get better over the next few days. It's good that your walking and be sure to get in as much fluid as you can. We want no dehydration. Hope your feeling better soon.

  13. Don't let anyone tell you you made the wrong decision. You felt you made the right one and you did. You will lose that weight and you will show all of them how awsome you look and feel. You consentrate on sticking to your bandster rules and less time worrying about what they think. You will get that weight off. (((HUGS)))
  14. I was at 265 when I started and beleive me I tried everything to lose weight prior to deciding to get banded. If I can do this you can too!!! Best advice I can give you is just follow your bandster rules. Eat 3 meals a day/don't drink with meals/excercise(at least some) this is my weekness)try to eat your protein first and then your vegtables and starch. Most of all it is so much easy not to give up when your banded. you wake up each day with hope and your little band in your belly reminding you that you can do this. Its a tool and when used right it works!!! Good luck to you and I want to here how that 285 five is dropping off okay!!! Before long you will be below 200 too!! (((HUGS)))
  15. Thanks and good luck to you on your upcoming band surgery. You will love your band!!
  16. Hey Kare My first goal is 150 but at 5'00 tall I'd like to get to below that. But at first I was trying to be realistic. The last time I weighed 150 was after just losing 70 pounds when I was a Jr. in high school.Needless to say it came back on plus some yuck!!! Since then I have had a baby too so I know that is a factor too. If I could just get to 150 I would be proud to continue on down the scale! good luck to you in your continued efforts to reach your goal!!
  17. Oh I'm so proud for you!!! Your band date is just around the corner.I wish you all the best of luck with your band. I just went and bought size 18 jeans and that was something great to buy... haven't seen an 18 for a long time. I ws wearing 24/26 clothes before surgery!!
  18. Well thanks Christina but I had lost 13 of the 66 in Febuary2005 right before being banded... so actually I've lost 53 pounds since being banded on March 18th 2005...thats an average of about 8.8 pounds per month for 6 months. Total weight lose average over all in 7 months time 9.42 pounds per month. still happy with that for sure but I didn't want that 11 pounds a month you gave me to look to good LOL!!! Over all i'm proud of my weight loss thanks for all your suport!!

  22. I've had this happen several times... I'd lose a pound and gain a pound and so on!! It was a definate plateau. It went on for a few weeks and wame it went away..and theweight started dropping again. i think that your body is just getting use to the weight it is at so it sits there for a while till it adjusts to your new weight. Your doing great girl keep it up!!
