  1. Is ti your surgical consult? It will be easy! The doctor will talk about the actual surgical process you are interested in , if he or she thinks that is the best one for you, they will review your meds and other medical conditions. In my case the surgeon discussed the need for the egd test and the procedure for that. We did schedule the surgery that day!
  2. Eating slowly! I hate it! I just want to eat and get on with it!
  3. I can't seem to figure it out.
  4. Welcome, Sounds like you are doing great! I think we all hate the protein shakes by the time we get to a few weeks post op!

Poor thing! I am sorry you are dealing with this complicated thing.Sometimes relationships are the hardest thing in life. They give us the biggest rewards and the biggest heartaches. I can't tell you what to do but we are here to listen.
  7. I have always had an issue with eating too fast. I have really worked very hard to slow down before surgery and since. Now though the results of eating fast are very painful yet, I can still not seem to eat slowly enough. I am not sure what to do.
  8. I understand, I was shocked when I looked at my pictures from before. It is not like looking at a stranger but I cannot believe I was that big.
  9. I tried upping my calories to throw my body a curveball and it worked. Are you getting any carbs? Any fruit? That seemed to help me somewhat too. My body could not function well with out any carbs at all. Some people may disagree with me but I was not losing on essentially no carbs. Also, are you able to use the bathroom regularly that made a huge difference for me.
  10. I have seizures and migraines and gabapentin for both issues. I have lost 64 pounds since the 4th of July. 21 pounds since surgery November 19th.
  11. This may sound like a weird question but are you able to use the bathroom? I found when i was really stalled I was also really constipated and that seemed to add to the stall issue. About the calories, How many calories are your shakes? How many grams of Protein are you getting? Week three is famous for stalls! Hang in there!
  12. How are you doing today? Are you able to get in any fluids? I could not get in much early on. My pain was really bad too. i went home on day three but I was really miserable the first week-to ten days.
  13. Her surgery was in October 2012. You look GORGEOUS!
  14. This happened to me I wanted everything but knew I could really have nothing! It really messed with my mind.
  15. I don't own a scale. I am looking for one that I like. I usually weigh at the gym but I don't call anything official unless it is on the doctor's scale.
  16. Nope mine skipped. I have skipped before too when my calories were really low or my exercise increased by a lot.
  17. Wow at nine days out! That is incredible! I barely was getting out of bed.
  18. It sounds like you are eating a lot of variety for being pretty early post op. At 3-4 weeks I was still on pureed food. I could not stomach the Protein shakes or milk either until recently and I am 7 weeks out now and I am so glad to have them back. What is on your list? Maybe we can help you be creative!
  19. Good luck see you on the other side!
  20. Medicare does not require a six month supervised diet.
  21. Please click the images you can't see the weightloss at all unless you do! This picture was taken at about 270 (HW 282) in 2010 This one was taken December 21, 2013 226 56 pounds down
  22. I had to wait a lot longer to fulfill the requirements of the weight management program than I did for medicare! I started with the physical for weight management on June 25 and could have had surgery in mid October. I had to have lots of tests and appointments and classes in between. I am sure you will too.
  23. I have medicare. There is no insurance required waiting period if your BMI is over 40, mine was 48.something . There is no question the sleeve is covered if you meet the criteria for comorbities or BMI.
  24. Oh my I am so sorry! What a shock I can't imagine what you must be going through!
  25. The bra is a good idea I only have one that fits right now. My band size has decreased by 5-6 inches since my weightloss began. My sister advised me to get really good sports bra. I have some jogging type pants I think will work for now but they are getting too big. Maybe I will check out the thrift for something else.
