On MyFitnessPal, you can go to:

HOME

GOALS

CHANGE GOALS

And input what you want for pre-op calories, Protein, Carbs, Fiber or whatever else your NUT wants you to focus on.

I put in 1000 cals (too many, but the closest I could get with the right protein), 125g carbs (we only need 120 but again, the closest I could get), 75g protein (which is exactly what my doct and NUT want) and 25 grams of fiber.

Now I can count down WITHOUT referring back to my book constantly. I am not in pre-op yet, but I am trying to ease down and it's annoying to see I have so much left over each day. Just an FYI!

Pre-op starts Thursday for 2 weeks, surgery on the 16th.

Does anyone else use this? I've used it in the past but never stuck to it. I really want to keep up with it this time and I think if I have friends on there that will help. If you use it add me, username is callie_henry

Food and nutrition have a thread about this that you could find plenty of friends on :)

Might have to check this app out myself :)

How's the diet going with my fitness pal ... I'm down 27 lbs so far the surgeon said he needs my BMI to go down to a safe # before surgery I started @ 296 I'm only 5" now I'm 269 .. And he said another 10lbs will be good ... So I'm trying hard !! You can add me if you want loca511@yahoo.com is my email ... I'm Kat btw

Hi all! I added a recipe to myfitnesspal but I wasn't sure the number of servings. How do you figure that out? I feel dumb even asking.

I have to make the recipe first. And measure it out with measuring cups (depending on what it is)

Is there another way?

I have been using MFP for awhile now and when I adjust the intake, after surgery, to the numbers my doctor suggested, even going under custom settings it will skew other numbers and won't stay at what I have set.

Does anyone know how to fix it so I can personalize all the settings?
