    Revision due to GERD

Depends on insurance. Usually for a revision you have to have some type of complication w the original wls
  3. Hi all! I went from sleeve to bypass. Didn’t have hunger with the sleeve. Had bypass on 11/2 and I’m starving. Anyone experience this? Is it just because it hard to get enough protein or will I feel this hungry once I’m on soft foods on the 16th?

    Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?

YES! I was sleeved in 2012. After my GB I was hungry for 4 weeks! it’s like okay yes I don’t have reflux which is SOOO nice but sometimes I think wow I should have just stayed w my sleeve. But now that I’m losing weight I’m good lol okay try hard boiled egg smashed w lil light Mayo, avocado, fat free beans, cauliflower mash. Measure 1/4 cup. Use baby spoon. Set a timer or stopwatch so you can see how fast you are eating. Set it for 20 min. You need to take that long to eat. Best wishes to you, your energy will return. Since my surgery date I’ve lost 19 pounds too but yes yours is fast! Hope you feel better. Walk daily.

    Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?

Hi, yes it’s actually a hungry starving feeling. Emptiness is good to describe it. It’s so weird. I have no growling but it’s that feeling as if it should be growling or did long ago. So weird. I guess it’s just a starting feeling. Besides feeling weak cuz my body needs food. That’s the only thing I can say about it. Even after I eat I still feel hungry. It’s so weird. So different from the sleeve which I loved. Glad I have no acid reflux but hmmm I’m wondering if it was worth it lol we shall see!

Yes I’m tired too. But dang that’s a lot of weight that’s great!! I was 216 on surgery. Day and now 203. So 18 pounds in 22 days. Not getting enough protein makes me so sleepy. I can only do like 40g.

    Revision due to GERD

Hello! I was sleeved in 2012 and lost 105! My acid reflux started getting worse. Especially at night too woke up w sore throat from the acid and tried diff medications. I got the bypass for acid reflux AND weight loss. More the acid I just want it gone. I’m 1.5 weeks post op. Had my bypass 11/2. I’ve lost 10 pounds so far in the week I’ve been home lol I’m feeling great. I will say the pain for this revision was horrible. My friend had bypass and didn’t have this much pain. Today I’m able to get around a lot and even house clean. I’m on protonix for 3 months but I was thinking I would not need it hmmm not sure but I do feel acid if I have Gatorade zero. Hopefullly it’s just because it’s so soon after surgery. But you will lose. Well I think so, I am. SW230, 2 week 1,000 cal diet low carb=216, after surgery 216. 10 days later I’m at 206. Goal 170. good luck!

    Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?

Yeah the restriction is different. I’ve been eating 1/2 cup of yogurt and then stopping trying to see how I feel like am I full idk? Then I hiccup and I’m like okay I’m sure I’m full. I think it’s good we aren’t feeling it. Means we aren’t filling out stomach up yay! 7-10 days I do liquids. Tomorrow i can have soft foods and I cannot wait I just want an egg! I think with regular food we will feel it. For now I’ll just use measuring cup and only eat that. When you hear gurgling or hiccup stop? Who knows lol I’m glad I did this though.

    Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?

Ah okay yes my hunger is starting to go away now. So odd but my surgeon said I will lose weight bcuz it’s the bypass. My sleeve was a little stretched which he said happens w all sleeves over time. I’ve lost 7 pounds since surgery on liquids. I start my soft foods this Thursday or next Tuesday not sure what way I want to try it yet but I can do between those dates.

    Sleeve to...? Revision seeker

I had a sleeve and kept off my 90 pounds for 6 years. But! I stoped using my tool thinking since I can’t eat that much I won’t gain well for married and are small but bad then more and stretched my sleeve. Still ate well at times but because of health problems I. March could not work out and I gained 10 pounds in honeymoon and 28 since covid. Bad I know. Anyways I also had acid reflux but wanted to lose and keep off. Did the bypass and I’ve dropped 17 pounds already. I’m happy I did it. Just got it Monday and I’m in pain it’s WAY worse than the sleeve. But hey we can all get seconds chances we just have to stick to it so I’m joining a support group Monday and I’m logging all my fluids and food In myfitnesspal it’s the only way I can do it.

    Revision completed

Hi I had my revision Monday 11/2. 11/3 was horrible. Not as easy as the sleeve was and I’m starving lol I cried, my nurses (2) sucked and I was in a lot of pain! More then before way more but today is day 5 post op and I’m better. My incisions started to get infected bcuz I had a rash from the dermabond so I had to Peep it off and now I’m on a horse pill antibiotic. I’m already dropping weight. I only felt a little acid last night when I had Greek yogurt. My doc gave me a diet plan to follow from day 3-16.

  17. Hi all! Is there anyone here who got a revision from sleeve to bypass and lost more weight? If you did, did you gain wait after sleeve? My HW 280, Lowest sleeve weight was (2013)171, (2017)180 after 5 years, (2019) 190 on my wedding day and now w GERD and quarantine I’m 230 I get my surgery date this week for bypass. Are there any success stories of going back down to your lowest sleeve weight? I’m excited to no longer have to take omperozole but do want to lose and get back down to 170. Please let me know, looking for someone who achieved that lol
  18. Circlesis how much did you gain over the 6? I’m at 6 years as well. And have you lost any weight since?

  20. Jean! I have my surgery scheduled 11/2. I met with my surgeon last week and he said as long as I stick to my no carb, protein and physical activity I will lose the weight and go back down to my lowest. Today is my first day no coffee and I’m dying but ready to get back into track. I also follow some on IG that has revision for weight loss and she said it takes longer but possible if we follow the diet and don’t go back to our old habits. I totally know how much this sucks to have come so far only to gain lol but we got this!!!
