How do you record your food intake?
I do not have a kitchen scale. I have purchased so much paraphernalia to try to adjust to this new life. It is getting really expensive! Also I have a super small kitchen I know I probably need a scale so I will try to find one but the measuring is just making me nuts!

How do you record your food intake?
I use my fitness pal but I am having a problem I cannot exactly measure what I have eaten. Sometimes it might only be a a teaspoon or a nibble of something and I know it all counts. Sometimes I put half a cup in my bowl but I can't eat it all. Sometimes I eat half or less and it just really compute well on my tracking. I will be honest I think the tracking is making me more crazy than tryiing to follow the diet.

Bathroom Issues From Pre Opt Diet....
I would let the nurse or nutritionist know your concerns now before it becomes a really big issue. Constipation can be a truly ugly and incredibly painful issue post op so talk to them noe and get it addressed! I speak from experience!

Meds
I know it is a lot of money but you guess what you will or won't need. I have need the nausea medicine everyday since surgery and I am almost 4 weeks post op. I needed the pain medicine everyday until a few days ago. i also have used the levsin which is anti spasmodic for the stomach and would definitely have ended up bak n the hospital without the medication. Have you checked wiht your doc about using motrin. For most of us nsaids are not allowed after surgery especially immediately postop.

Surgery Dec 18
Are you on a pre op diet now? Do you know how long you will be in the hospital? I am 3 1/2 weeks out and at about 80% normal but everybody is different. I am able to drink a lot more fluids now thsn in the first few weeks. I went back to one or Protein shakes a day to beef up my protein numbers because I was not losing weight and my nurse said that would help. This is major surgery you have to expect sveral weeks to get tot your new normal.

Pre op diet over the holidays
You can do it! I am not gonna lie it will be very difficult. This whole thing is way more about what is going on in your head than what is going in your mouth. You are strong! Think abouk what you CAN do. Spend time listening to stories about your family history that you have never heard before, maybe help the elderly people in your family that you did not make time for in the past. Take care of the little kids so there parents can relax. Tell a few more stories yourself, you can talk more with less food in your mouth. Take some games to play. Make sure to take lots of whatever liquids you can have, whather it is your protien shakes or crystal light or jello to share or whatever. Have fun, it is all about perspective. I am speaking from experience I had suregery right thanksgiving and my birthday!

Changing surgeons post op? Long story...mean surgeon.
What an absolute idiot! Call the hospital where you had your surgery and see if there are any other surgeons that do bariatrics there. Maybw there is someone who can follow up with you there. If not, look for other bariatric centers close to you.Did you have a nutrionist ? Were you going to a weight management center or just to the surgeon?
