  3. We definitely need to talk more! My husband does not really understand the Doctor Who infatuation that I have. Have you seen Torchwood? Do you like Captain Jack? At least you and your husband can snuggle up next to each other a little while you watch the re -runs and wait for the Anniversary special!! I hope your recovery continues to go well! You can show me how it is done! My surgery is still about 5 weeks away.

  6. Hey Susan, I am Ann. Are you in Michigan? My surgery date is 11/19 overweight all my adult life and I am so nervous! i feel like I could have written your post! Hang in there! You are definitely not alone. where are you having your surgery? Who is your doctor?
  7. I work a desk job 100% from home. I teach English Language classes online. I am arranging to take two full weeks off. I am a contracted worker so any time off is unpaid. If I can go back sooner I will but I want to make sure my bases are covered for healing time. My surgery is scheduled for November 19th.

  9. I am scheduled for 11/19, we are gonna be so close on dates! I have been doing all my preop requirements since June though. I have lost 21 pounds so far. I have stopped drinking soda and fast food, reduced my sweets and other carbs by alot and increased my protein. I have also increased my activity alot. I have a pedometer with a goal to walk at least 2-4 miles a day. I am still struggling with the no drinking while eating thing, and the eating slowly. My surgeon requires a two two week pre op liquid diet with the expectation that we will lose at least ten pounds during that time.
  10. My highest weight was 282 I have lost 21 pounds so far pre op I start my liquid diet on November 5th and have surgery on Nov 19th.
  11. It's just that I hate long meetings. I have a hard time sitting longer than 1 hour and I always have to pee constantly, it's so embarrassing!
  12. I have also done: 3 behaviorist appts 3 nutritionist appts a ct angiogram a chest x ray blood work 2x echocardiogram mammogram annual exam and pap smear neuro clearance physical body comp test exercise specialist appt cardiology consult
  13. My surgery is scheduled for 11/19/13. I have to attend a 4 hour pre-op class a few weeks before. Is this common at other weight management centers? Also do other places allow patients to sample the required liquid diet product before they begin their preop diet? My program requires us to use new directions products. I have to a two week liquid diet.
  14. Nsaids and caffeine are two of the most effective things in my migraine arsenal. With those gone I am not sure what to do to fight the headaches. My Migraines can last several days and includes severe nausea , dizziness vomiting and fatigue. I cannot walk, drive work or tolerate light sounds or smells it is very debilitating. My surgeon says no NSAIDS or caffeine forever. My surgery date is November 19th. I can't be the only one planning the sleeve surgery who suffers with migraines.

  16. I am used to really rich and tasty full bodied coffee. My surgeon has said no caffeine after surgery ever! I have to find a good full bodied coffee for life. Please help! Also please give suggestions for sugar free creamers that taste really good.

  19. Is there a set number of expected pounds lost per week or month that most people expect to lose and then they don't? I am just wondering what others definitions are.
  20. I do not understand it either. Maybe some people feel ashamed. I am happy that i am brave enough to try to make a change.

  22. I am so sorry. Hang in there! Believe me an 8x surgery veteran there are much better hospital stays. I will be thinking of you tomorrow!
