  1. Are you going through a weight management center? Have you seen a nutritionist yet? They can give you loads of ideas. I stopped drinking pop altogether, I stopped eating all fast food, and all fried food. I cut way back on desserts, like maybe once every 3 days instead of every day. I replaced my high sugar desserts with no sugar added fudge bars which i do not feel like i have to ration even now that I am post op as they are only 40 calories and actually have some protein too!
  2. I am at three weeks now. Stalled since week one. I was not hitting my water and protein marks. When I spoke with the urse yesterday she said it canbe any number of things. This really is a drstic thing we have done to our bodies and sometimes it takes our body a while to catch up. She said our body sometimes goes into a starvation mode and clings to everything we do consume and oes not let go of anything at all hence no loss. She told me eventually my body will get the message that it is getting food regularly and I will start to lose. You will too. I guess we just to hang in there.
  3. I slept on my side in the hospital. I can't quite sleep on my stomach yet though and I am a tummy sleeper. I am three weeks out.
  4. That is awful! I am sorry you even had to hear that crap. Take care and only listen to the people that actually care about you!
  5. Great job! I have been stuck since the end of the first week! The nurse said she thinks it is because I am not hitting my protein and water totals everyday.
  6. I was supposed to wait til my two week appointment but i just kept my incisions above the water. I felt so much better after having a bath. I know I am such a rebel!
  7. Back in July when I started this weight loss journey I was 282 pounds and wearing size 22/24 pants. They were really too small but I was shoving myself in anyway. Now the 22's are so big they are ridiculous, they literally fall off! I went to the thrift shop to buy some in between pants. I thought the 20's would be good. Nope, huge! I bought two pairs of size 18 and drumroll please, size 16 ! I could not believe it ! Now if that was not good enough,I wore a pair of the 18's yesterday and guess what? They are too big without a belt. how crazy is that! Oh, I have lost 7 inches off my waist since the beginning. The last time I was weighed I was at 231 pounds so fifty pounds down not bad !
  8. I need to find a scale that mesaures ounces and is not very big or expensive. My kithcen is very tiny with very little cabinet or counter space.
  9. I had two one ounce containers of diluted apple juice, 4 medicine cup size containers of sugar free jello , hot tea with splenda, and broth. I did not eat or drink much of it at all. It was all pretty tasteless and gross.
  10. I hated the pre op diet. I got so tired of the shakes but I powered throught it. I won't lie I did cheat a little especially the first week. How long is your pre op diet?
  11. Great job ! Hang in there we are in it for long haul!
  12. Sounds like you should call the doc.
  13. I'll be honest I hated the pre op diet. I whined and complained the whole time. But I did lose thirteen pounds in fourteen days and my surgery went very well with no complitcations. So I am glad I hung in there. So get in your protein it helps you do what needs to be done. Hang in there!
  14. Did you get some antibiotics? Everything will probably be okay, I had a terrible cold and ear infection while in my pre op diet I thought for sure I would be post poned but I was not. Everyting turned out okay. Just take your meds and hang in there.
  15. I ate some crackers and bean/pea type Soups a few days earlier than I was supposed to but I made sure to be up front with the nurse and doctor about it. I was very hungry. I was very careful to let the cracker dissolve in my mouth and that nothing solid actually went downmy throat.
  16. I lost 10 pounds the first week post op. This week though I am up 3 pounds!!! I don't understand? I was really dehydrated the first week could that be the reason?
  17. My hips don't hit the sides of the tub anymore! I feel like the incredible shrinking woman!
  18. I am two weeks out and definiitely still need the meds. The medicine i have is called levsin and it helps alot.
  19. My doc says says no alcohol ever. But different docs have different rules.
  20. I am still on full liquids 3-5 new direction Protein shakes puddings or Soups additional liquids: Water cream soups thinned cream of wheat fat free sugar free yogurt broth sugar free free pudding sugar free Jello sugar free hot chocolate diluted juice skim milk
  21. I just had my surgery 11 days ago but I have lost 51 pounds since july 10th. So far no face sag. I am worried about looking older too. So far I don't. I am more worried about having major elephant body and rear wrinkles and sags but Ihave about 95 more pounds to go s o I am not sure what will happen in the future. Hopefully exercise will keep the elephant wrinkles away.
  22. My first few days were awful! Do you have pain meds? Definitely take them! I am ten days out and I still need mine sometimes. I also found that childrens tylenol chewables work really well too if you don't want the narcotic pain reliever from the doc.
  23. What a drag of a night! Can't get to sleep . Can't get comfortable . Think I want everything to eat and course I can't. Guess I needed to whine sorry guys but everyone here was sleeping.
  24. This first week has not been easy at all. Yesterday it really hit home why I did this to myself. I lost ten pounds in one week! I am now under that 40 BMI! No longer morbidly obese, I am so excited!
  25. I have not even tried yet at 1 week post op. The shakes just sound gross and I cant convince myself to even make one. Te only saving grae i have had is the new directions cream of chicken soup. Anything milky I just can't do it yet.
