  1. I have been banded for 6 months now. I've lost 20 lbs pre-op and 62 post-op! I am thrilled to say the least!
  2. I agree with Fairy. When I can eat a cup or more I go for another fill. Sounds like you just need a fill.
  3. I think I had one before surgery and then 1 - 2 after surgery. I stayed one night in the hospital and I didn't have to take any shots once I left. All is fine.
  4. I too get the hiccups on a daily basis. Sometimes they are "hard" ones and actually hurt a bit. Mostly it's a sign to stop for me. My youngest step-daughter thinks it is funny and at the dinner table before they start, she always looks at me and says "i predict you will get the hiccups", like she's telling my future! LOL
  5. OMG, I know what this is like. I've PB in resturants a few times. Mostly getting to the bathroom first, but once while out to lunch with my daughter to her horror more than mine I couldn't get out of the booth fast enough and up it came! Thank goodness there where plenty of extra napkins on the table. I grabbed one and put my head in my hands. Although it worked, it was nasty.
  6. Congrats! I too just recently hit onederland! I couldn't believe it and like you I got on the scale several times moving it around the bathroom and hall to make sure it was not my imagination! Even made Hubby come look to verify what I was seeing! LOL It's great!
  7. Congrats! I too know it feels great. I'm wearing 16's and some 14's after starting at a 22. It's wonderful! Congrats and keep up the good work. Before you know it you will be seeing an 8!
  8. I too am from Western Ma. I had my surgery done at Baystate. I've been doing very well with my weight loss. My biggest problem was I could not keep it off once I lost weight and then I would gain even more than I lost! But with the band I don't have to worry about that. It just won't let me eat the way I used too. Alot of it now is in my head. I have to remember that I can't eat a plate full of anything. I still crave foods I know I can't have, ie: bread, burgers, some meats. But I just remind myself how luck I am to be banded. Best of luck on your journey!
  9. I have 6.5 in my 10 cc AP band. This in 3 fills. I cancelled my last fill because I have great restriction. May have to cancel again!
  10. I know how you feel! I lay in bed in the morning just touching my rib cage! My husband laughs because I take his hand and run it down the the sides of me and tell him "see, I really do have ribs!"
  11. Just got weighed. Now at 200 lbs. 10 to go to hit first goal!
  12. Hello Ailie, I too am from western mass. I have been very successful with the band so far and I'm loving it! Do I miss eating, yes! But I love losing the weight and fitting into sizes I thought I would never ever see again! I love the band! Let me know if I can be of any help!
  13. I have trouble with meat in general. Doesn't matter which critter it came from. Some days I can get a little down, but most often I'm too tight not matter what I do. And yes, I'm definitely tighter in the evening trying to get it down.
  14. Hi Julie, I'm in Westfield. The weather today is WET! I can't wait for spring to come!
  15. 14 lbs in less than 2 months is nothing to sneeze at. You are not even banded yet. And what pain for a few months? I'm not sure what is in your head but I can honestly tell you I was not in pain for months, not even weeks. The band is the best thing I've ever done for myself.
  16. If I remember they called me within a few days of the seminar. Maybe you should call them. It can't hurt. Have you decided which doctor you want? Dr. Fiallo is who my primary doctor recommended and I did research on him so I went with him, I don't know much about Dr. Haag but I hear he too is excellant. I don't think you can go wrong with either. The support groups they have, both pre-op and post-op are wonderful too.
  17. I'm doing just fine as well. Just 2 more pounds and I can say goodbye to the 200's forever!!! I have had 3 fills, had to cancel my last scheduled one (4th) because I am still pretty restricted. So I rescheduled for the end of the month, so we will see. I too love my band!
  18. I'm with you, I hate exercise. I do like walking but it has been too cold and crummy out to do that. I too am more active since I've dropped some weight, but I don't excersise. I know, shame on me!
  19. I had Dr. Fiallo in Springfield, MA
  20. I'm right there with you! I have great restriction right now but if I try eating anything spicy (my favs of course) my band tightens and I can't get anything down. You'd think I'd learn, but I just keep torchering myself!
  21. lfein229........I feel good, I look good. What else can I say? I've had no problems. I like Dr. Fiallo and his staff alot. I'm down about 68 pounds since I started this adventure in June. Lost 20 pounds pre-op and the balance post-op. I love my band!
  22. srbanker........i use the carnation all the time....never thought about putting it in warm milk, sounds yummy to me......gonna give that one a try. Thanks! restrict2008........I guess we will just continue to hiccup together, who knows maybe we can start a new club!
  23. I had to do the 6 month supervised diet too. I lost 20 lbs before surgery. Don't worry about losing weight prior to surgery, the docs submit to the insurance company your starting weight. That is the weight they consider your surgery. Showing you are serious and losing a few pounds will help you, besides making your surgery a bit safer as it will help to shrink your liver. My nutrionist had me on adipex for weight loss. It helped to curb my appetite.
  24. I need to learn these new habits as well. I get such terrible pain in my chest when something gets stuck. Think I'd learn by now!
  25. As far as I know I do not have a slipped band, and I have been hiccupping since day one. Some times it is mild, but I have to tell you sometimes they are harsh and they hurt. Some have even caused me to PB. Gross! Anyway, I have no real answer but will keep my eye on the responses because now I'm concerned too!
