  1. Hold up hold up hold up!!! I live here in America. Here is America we have this little thing called FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Okay, now with that in mind we also have freedom in choice. And with THAT in mind, why is it that this forum is so over moderated with threats of locking threads and deleting posts and everything? I agree I haven't been in the "mix" of things lately but I do have the right to speak my mind and I do choose whether or not to participate in those particular posts. I think that everyone in the questioned threads had a right to speak, whether they agreed or disagreed. I think that when you post a thread, you are opening it up to everyone. I think that when you have a thread, it is no longer "yours" but the becomes a part of the overall dynamic of the group. I do agree that some comments were nasty and uncalled for, but I also believe that everyone has a right to speak. Just because one person gets offended, then DON'T read that post (see freedom of choice above). I think that nilly willy locking a thread because you have been queened or kinged as a moderator is ridiculous. I think a thread should only be locked if it is blatant advertising crap. Otherwise, let it ride. By not dealing with the problems and comments that doesn't SOLVE the issue, it lets it fester on other threads. Let people talk it out back and forth. Is it bickering? Sure it is, but we are a majority of women in this group, so isn't it a bit expected? Women have to hash it out to be done with it. I think it is all getting taken too seriously. Let people speak!!! (see above freedom of speech) Good bad and ugly. There, I have said my 2 cents. Now feel free to come to THIS thread and say what you will because this is MY thread I have donated to THIS group, which makes it OURS.

  14. I agree about your original "purse" analogy... however, it isn't the band that you are paying for in Mexico, it is the Mexico surgeon, it is the experience and reputation. And yes, you may just get what you pay for. Mexico is a different type of animal. If you were just buying the band, then I say yes, go for the least expensive price. But you are paying for a surgeon to place a foreign object into your body under anestesia and using tools to cut you open.... I say pay the bigger price for the better reputation and more well known surgeon from US patients. I have never heard of Cunta. I researched VERY hard about Mexico surgeons and never even came across his name. I would try and stick with the more well known names and cross categorize them.... Ortiz, Rumbaut, Kuri, Sanchez, DeLaGarza, just to name a few that are commonly heard of here and are well known that come with references. If you take the "cheaper" route with someone not well known or someone that comes with some horror stories (cough cough Lopez) then you may just end up paying for some serious costs out of your own pocket with serious complications. We are only really talking about $1-3k here. Seriously, it isn't worth the "savings" you are trying to make with your health. There are many wonderful Mexico surgeons out there, just make sure you do your homework and really find out the good, the bad and the indifferent when making your decision.

  23. There is a ton of information about exercise and you are absolutely right in it being very important to toning and weight loss. There is the quarterly (or at least it seems to go in quarter spurts) of a boot camp LBT style for exercise and weight loss. Plus there are exercise challenge threads around. There are also the Turtle Tribe and the Rabbit groups.... here are some threads you may want to check out. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=13508&highlight=exercise http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17786&highlight=exercise http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17295&highlight=exercise http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=15076&highlight=exercise http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=15356&highlight=exercise http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=15282&highlight=exercise http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=15547&highlight=exercise
