  1. I would think that the bash would be for anyone to go to. We can all put aside our differences for one little weekend to just have fun and celebrate the gift of our weightloss and our new selves. Am I to understand that this is a celebration only for those invited or just to certain people? Lisa is my friend and I love her to death but I thought that all LBT'ers were invited as an open invitation. Am I wrong? Hey, if there are some people that I may not care for and have to deal with and be friendly, everyone should just lay down their pitchforks too and come together to celebrate!!!
  2. Oh I did indeed! Did you know that the bracelet has the "evil eye" beads on it to protect the wearer from harm and danger? I LOVE IT! Wearing it today!
  3. I stopped smoking 2 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after surgery. Then my dog got sick and the stress just overcame me and I caved. I smoke a lot less now, but haven't kicked the habit anymore.
  4. WOOOO HOOO! I got my Secret Sam gift! It came all the way from GREECE! And I love love love it! I got some great postcards, some beautiful jewelry, some scrapbooking stuff, a Greek Towel and pot holder, and more Greece stuff. My sam was VERY good to me! I even kept the bags that they came in!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
  5. I have about 10-15 lbs to goal. When I do I am buying my boob job as my reward!! Yeah boobies!
  6. I just wanted to mention that I got a very thoughtful thank you card in the mail today from the person I sent a gift to (KyleighP). It was so nice to get a card thanking me for sending her a gift and what a thoughtful thing for her to do!
  7. I move tomorrow..... so whoever my secret sam is please use the correct "after June 18th" date. I am going to haunt the mailman!! WOOOOT!
  8. My mother (who had always been morbidly obese) was thinner than me after gastric bypass. That rocked my boat in a side by side picture of us.
  9. Well.... just a warning then for DH.... I am adopted and at age 21 (12 years ago) I decided to "find my heritage". Ruined my life! I wish I could go back and just forget it all. Sometimes skeletons are buried for a reason. Just walk lightly.... you never know what your gonna step in.
  10. What about just opening up your arcadia door all day and letting it "mosey" on outside?
  11. I asked this question point blank to a US surgeon: 1. Because the money is in the procedure, not the aftercare. Doctors don't WANT you to go to another country. And if you do, why would they want to invest the time and effort into someone else's work. 2. And unfortunately, there can be "hack" jobs in other countries. If you don't pick a good surgeon, they could be stuck with your aftercare that some Mexico doc screwed up. Therefore, your problems will be associated with his practice even though you didn't get banded by him/her.
  12. Try leaning into a pillow for pressure. Also a heating pad on low will take the "sting" out.
  13. OMG, there is another Jenna!! Woooot Wooooot! C'mon girlie.... do the booty shakin' dance with me!
  14. This is also their disclaimer on their website. They just don't really mention how rare it is to not have problems at some point during the "life" of your band. Which is estimated up to 10 years. Is there a chance the device will need to be removed? The LAP-BAND System is a long-term implant, but it may have to be removed or replaced at any time. For instance, the device may need to be removed to manage any adverse reactions you might have. The device may also need to be removed, repositioned or replaced if you aren't losing as much weight as you and your doctor feel you should be losing. http://www.lap-band.com/risk.html
  15. To my knowledge... Craig at Inamed told me that the longest statistic is 10 years because that is the longest that an Inamed band has been put in as the original. He said it was common to need a replacement band after 5 years if the band lasts that long. Needless to say, my conversation with him was less than encouraging considering I already had the band. And I am a bit miffed that my doctor never told me about this being long term rather than perm lifelong. I knew of the complications, but I didn't know they were practically inevitable and very rare to have an ORIGINAL band for more than 10 years.
  16. I am soooooo happy that you got it..... I don't know why the delivery confirmation number wasn't working!! In any case, did you also like all the scrapbooking stuff? Is it what you wanted?
  17. They are right.... The decision is yours. However, if you are asking my personal opinion I am more than willing to share it. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with a more life long procedure rather than the long term lap band. As Inamed will even tell you, the band is designed for long term (ie average 6-10 years) whereas another form is life long. I didn't know this when I got the surgery. I would have went for more permanant methods personally. Don't get me wrong... I love my band and I love what it has done for me. I look and feel great! But, I will be converting when the life of my band expires to more perm method. I just would have done the perm method faster.
  18. Thanks... well this time it is a bit different.... this time the delivery confirmation is screwed up. I don't mind buying again and resending I just don't want to be late!!!
  19. I wore comfy Tshirt, PJ bottoms, and pink fuzzy slippers. I wanted to just wear the slippers but my mom said that was inappropriate.
  20. I think not doing well on the supervised diet is the point of it all. No worries. Everything will be okay.
  21. Okay, I am a little concerned. I sent mine out around June 8th or so. They still haven't posted here so I checked my delivery confirmation and it says that they have no record. I am nervous. Should I contact the person or just wait for a bit? I'd like to know in case I need to send another replacement gift.
  22. When you go out to eat at an Italian restaurant what do you usually eat? Ravioli or Tortellini, salad When you got out to eat at a Chinese restaurant what do you usually eat? Veggies, chicken, lo mein When you go out to a Seafood restaurant what do you usually eat? Cajun Chicken Pasta at Red Lobster (I hate seafood)
  23. Your pouch or your port area? Do you mean your stomach is upset? May be some reflux?
  24. WOOT WOOT!! I think I may have been to send mine out first! I hope he or she loves it!
