post surgical sexual intimicies
You guys are awesome!!!!! I guess Shaydee is right, I won't know until I try it. But if by chance someone out there has tried it, please let me know, I would rather not be throwing up or having a PB (ewww) with that one.

How often do people need to buy new clothes?
Great Idea, anyone live in Hawaii and want to pass down some clothing?? Look me up..

Sick days or vacation
I guess that would depend on how many days you have of each, but I would recommend the sick days first, then if needed use the vacation days for later. Your doctor could always rewrite another note stating that you can return earlier.

Questions for the surgeon
To tell you the truth, since my husband and I have been on this website, we have gotten so many of our questions answered that I don't think we had many for the surgeon. Although recovery questions are good to ask, how long, when can you return to work, activities(when can they be resumed) ? Things like that. Good Luck

post surgical sexual intimicies
Hey guys, I tried to get some response from an earlier thread, but no luck, so I will try a new thread. I was wondering without being to graphic, how the lap band will change some of the activities that my hubby and I enjoy, now that I have a smaller stomach, am I limited to what can go in the stomach, and will it affect me, if at all. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Mahalo

after the visits
OK so now that I have seen/not seen Dr. Fowler in his seminar, he was in emergency surgery, so we kind of had a semi-seminar. We also saw the psychologist, what a waste of time that was. I guess since we were normal, it was like a waste of time. Then we saw the Physical Thereapist, to see if we were OK to exercise after surgery. That went OK, then we saw Mary the nutritionist, and that was the most helpful of all, she was able to answer most of our questions about eating after the surgery and gave us a transition diet to follow, wow, it is difficult. I guess I have to get used to the feeling of not being full, and having food in my stomach. We are trying and I think doing OK, we will see with time. Well tata for now.

How soon can my husband & I be intimate?
I am glad that I am not the only one thinking about these things, but I have another question. In terms of "types" of sexual intimacies, now that my stomach is smaller, are there other restrictions of what can go in there and how would it affect me if at all? I hope you all understand what I mean, without my having to be too graphic... Any help would be appreciated. Mahalo....

Hey ladies, I have a slightly private matter, has any of you had your surgery when you were very close to your time of the month, or even had surgery when it was time? I am scheduling my surgery around the time I can get off from work, then I just realized that it also may be that time for me too. How would the recovery be??? Help????

-
Clear liquids????
I know that we need to be concerned about clear liquids right after the surgery, but has anyone heard anything about miso soup? Its a soy based soup and is not really clear although it is full of protein and there is no "solid" food in it. Any thoughts??

just getting started
OK so here goes. I will try to keep up with this journal. I have never kept a journal before so I will try. Well today we went to church then had a slice of combo pizza at Costco, and had some mint chocolate cookie things. The elders are coming for dinner so I hope not to over stuff myself. I am going to try to go to the gym this week to get back in the groove, to start the exercises before surgery. I really don't want to end up with saggy skin, so I think that exercising will help this.

Hi, this is my first time here, just getting started
WOW, Mahalo to all of you for your great support. I haven't had the chance to look at the site much and learn more, but I do hope to gain lots of info in the weeks ahead. I guess I ned to learn more about what to expect after the surgery and how it is going to affect my daily life. I have heard a bunch of feedback about the eating and loss of nutrition part, and I guess I will learn as time gets near. Thanks again
