  1. Hi everyone,my hubby just had his pre-op appt. with the surgeon and he was told to go on full liquid starting now, his surgery is July 11th. One of the reasons, and I never thought of it is, that when you go on liquid not only are you shrinking your liver, which is good, but you are also shrinking your stomach, which then enables you to get a smaller band to start, less risk of slippage, and also a head start on the weight loss. That way I would think you would get more restriction right from the start.
  2. who says us PHAT (pretty hot and tempting) gals have no fun.
  3. Wow you guys, now I didn't think of that either, so if anyone knows the answer to that question about the "position" , legs and all, let me know. It would be good to know. Boy are we getting to know each other or what?????
  4. I haven't really looked very hard, but to my husband delight, I might have to look harder. LOL
  5. Mayabe someone should go and check the actual "nutritional" content, then I could incorporate it into my diet plan. Teehee...
  6. Good Luck to all of you. I will post a reply for my hubby Big Wave Dave. He is also being banded on July 11th. YEAH !!!! he is a bit nervous but doing OK.
  7. Hey Wanda, where in hawaii are you from and who did your surgery? My husband and I are getting banded this summer, at different times, by Dr. Fowler, let me know?? we haven't really met anyone here that lives in Hawaii. Mahalo

  11. WOW, sweety, congrats to you, I have been thinking of you alot. I am so happy you are doing well. I cannot believe how great you feel. It makes me and Big Wave feel alot better to see how "easy" it seems for you. Once again good job, we have you in our thoughts.
  12. Hey ladies, you guys are too funny, my husband reads the threads with me and he finds it hilarious, but twice in 30 minutes he finds unbelievable. He loves all the responses. With all the replys though, I never thought about having to wait 30 minutes before eating or 1 hour after eating. Well guess I should go and have all the fun I can now without all this guessing, mahalo all...
  13. WOW twice in 30 minutes, your guy has got some stamina. And I thought my guy had some gusto, you go girl....Thanks for the real life tip. Mahalo
  14. every doctor is different in what he requires. Just wait until you get your consult, and be sure to have a list of all the questions with you. Good Luck
  15. Hi sweety, I have been thinking of you all day, and I will be for the rest of the day, I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers today and tomorrow, Good Luck and I know all will be well. You are on your way to being the thin person that is inside of you. You have Dave's and my good wishes. Aloha.. talk to you after your surgery. I can't tell you enough how much I have enjoyed "meeting" and chatting with you... You go girl!!!!!!!!
  16. from what I have heard, is that it is help shrink your liver. That way there will be more room in the abdominal cavity to place the instruments safely. The more room the better. Also I am sure it also helps to get you into the mindset of eating differently also for after the surgery. Good Luck.
  17. maybe just ready..... you have been waiting so long and you know that you made the right decision. I know all will be good. This is the right time for you. A Hui Ho
  18. Thanks all for the replies, it was good to know of everyones experiences and knowing that I can't hurt myself too much. But there definately was some food (no pun intended) for thought on some of the other stuff. Let me know if anyone else can think of anything else I might need to know. Aloha...
  19. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!! You are definately in our prayers, I know all will go well, and i can't wait to hear back from you after you get your surgery. Good Luck,
  20. REALLY????? that cool, but I am a chocoholic, so maybe if he ate chocolate before hand I could still get my "fix".
  21. WOW. I never thought of the increase in sex as a side effect. My hubby will really enjoy that one, we have a very active sex life already ( about 6-7 times a week) . How will we find time for our usual activities now, like work, and eating. Hey now, thats an idea, sex instead of eating. Good Luck to all of you, keep us "posted" on whats going on. Aloha...
  22. Thanks for sharing, I was wondering the same thing myself. My hubby and I occasionally enjoy the rough stuff, so at least now I know to be careful.
  23. Hey, please don't give up. I can sympathize. It is the same for me and my husband, it seems they keep finding things that we need to do, seems a little disorganized, but I am going to keep at it. Oh and try having to fly over to another island everytime we have to visit him and do another appointment. That also requires us to get a rent a car and airfar, and sometimes a hotel room. But at least our insurance is paying for surgery. I hope things get better, and chin up, there is an end. Good Luck
  24. OK everyone, it has been too funny,BUT I still haven't heard from anyone who has actually DONE it, and what was the outcome..ooops you know what I mean. Anyway, a PB is a productive burp. and I would like to know the affects if any. So keep ladies and gents keep it coming...ooops (no pun intended) I can't seem to get IT off my mind. I would like to hear from you. As I am sure so would a lot of other people. Mahalo all.
