  1. I am 14 weeks post-op, no real complications except dehydration...but I do NOT recommend wls unless extreme circumstances (mine was keeping my mobility due to a permanent injury). I recommend the 3 Ws..Weight Watchers, walking, and water only. If you decide surgery, read, research, prepare, talk with someone who has had the surgery you've chosen, find a shake you like now, change habits now...and then, till you wake up from the surgery..you don't truly know what you've gotten yourself into...best of luck to you. DO what is best for you and your situation.
  2. It's okay to feel what you are feeling...you are not alone. I am sure many people feel the same, or similar, and some just would never admit it. Read the positive support; ignore the rude people. Hang in there. Give it time. Have patience. (I know - it is hard to do). It is summer - walk, walk, walk outside...it is serene & fresh air helps everybody! It is summer - try a new color to wear (and I agree with some posters above - Goodwill, thrift shops are good choices right now, if you don't want to invest alot of $ right now in clothes - I've bought brand new Lane Bryant stuff for a couple of bucks!)...try a bright color on your toes/nails...fix your hair differently...every day - say 3 good things to yourself about your body...focus on you. Khloe Kardashian does NOT wake up looking like Khloe Kardashian....I spent years at 5'10" at 150 lbs (perfect at that time with my age then) thinking I had to be 115-120 lbs like a model named Cindy Crawford...then, years later, I heard Cindy Crawford say this very thing about herself...best of luck to you!!
  3. Awesome! Congrats!
  4. Awesome!!! Congrats!!!
  5. ...sounds like a young, immature boy who thinks he is cuter than what he really is . .******* in the making...or like a 40 & up drunk man who's thinks he is still what he was at 20 & he's not ...and is already an *******...either way, you don't need either. A real man never uses the word FAT in my book...and your friends shouldn't be positive about a guy who acts that way toward you...that's messed up... from your pic - you are beautiful...don't settle for less than the best!
  6. Improve my mobility...I never want to be bedfast again; I suffered an injury and was bedfast for nearly 6 months. My increasing weight made it so much worse even when I was mobile again; I knew I'd be bedfast long-term, or permanently, if I didn't get my weight in control...that was my # 1 reason in seeking wls.
  7. 10000 Walmart brand (Spring Valley) & their prenatal vitamin for my hair. I started styling my hair less & using little to no products. I started using Biotin/Collagen Organix shampoo/conditioner (purple bottle Walmart)...I am right now 13 weeks...and dread this hair loss...it hasn't started yet, but it is inevitable. Best of luck to all of us with our hair!
  8. I know you probably don't feel like it, but make yourself keep sipping water, eat some ice...keep walking. Best of luck to you. Hope you feel better soon.
  9. Biotin 10,000 mg, prenatal vitamins, Biotin/Collagen Organix shampoo (purple bottle Walmart), not styling alot or using products much is what I am doing for my hair...I am right now 3 months out...struggle with protein...dread the hair more than anything...got hair nearly to my waist...it's all I got as the saying goes....good luck to all of us with the hair!!!!
  10. I am a diet coke addict...my dr & nut strongly advise against it...but I have tried it and diet root beer a few times after 6 weeks...neither taste the same to me now...I didn't experience any problems, but I didn't enjoy it like I used to. However, I am staying dehydrated...so I am about ready to try drinking it again in moderation just for fluids sake. I still get really full from drinking or eating, so I struggle with Protein and Water...I typically get in 2 or 3 8oz cups of skim milk and one 20 oz water per day...plus eat ice...and it takes me all day to do just that...water & Protein shakes are just disgusting to me & give me that I'm going to barf feeling, which I hate!
  11. Go back to the basics...water, Protein, & walking...87 lbs is awesome! So, you know you can do it. Don't look through the rearview mirror at sweets & things...look forward through the windshield to the you & your life you want. I know it is hard. Best of luck to you!
