WTF? Am I wrong?

So, I'm having lunch with a friend and as we are leaving a nice looking guy come over and and says to me "wow your hawt for a fat girl!!!and asked me for my number. I told him that he so disrespectful and needs to take his no good no class raggedy ass out of my face. My skinny friend thinks I was wrong because he was really cute and gave me a compliment and I'm being over sensitive. Am I ??? Isn't that like saying youd be pretty if you weren't fat .

You answered him correctly!! Well said!!! Any man that would say that to a you has no respect for people. Can you imagine what he says to people he is completely comfortable with!

Hot for a fat girl?!? No. You are hot. period. He was rude and I would have felt the same way that you did.

Depends, you going to be happy hanging with a guy that is in your friend's eyes is cute but who obviously is dumb, thinks it's ok to ask strangers for their numbers while telling them he thinks they're fat, and who is obviously a complete d-bag. No chance he hasn't done and said this to girls many times but like you said he is cute. I don't think you really need to ask yourself if your thoughts are wrong.

And your friend is ridiculous to expect you to take THAT as a compliment.

You don't owe any stranger anything. If you were offended you have the right to express it. Just because someone is good looking doesn't mean they deserve your time.

Backhanded compliments aren't welcome in my world either! I would not have given him my number in a million years--no matter how cute he was! Good for you for standing up to him :)

You did the right thing. No question.

Never, ever settle. Ever. This is not someone worth your time. It's sad that your friend does not know what a quality man is.

You were right to say that & if it were me I would have slapped him good &hard. Non the less woman are just as bad @saying stuff also, don't let anyone bring you down I work in a LARGE factory &ppl have lost respect when learning how to be social ...

...sounds like a young, immature boy who thinks he is cuter than what he really is . .******* in the making...or like a 40 & up drunk man who's thinks he is still what he was at 20 & he's not ...and is already an *******...either way, you don't need either. A real man never uses the word FAT in my book...and your friends shouldn't be positive about a guy who acts that way toward you...that's messed up...

from your pic - you are beautiful...don't settle for less than the best!

My first thought was that this guy has been listening to the pickup artist gurus. They often say to approach a beautiful woman and instead to just telling her how pretty she is - just like the last hundred guys that tried to pick her up - to tease her by pointing out a flaw in a playful manner. This guy just hasn't mastered the program yet - he picked out the wrong thing to tease about! B)

Thank you everyone. I'm happily married for 25 yrs but can believe there are young men out there today who think this is okay and dumbass women/girl like my friend who except it!!!! ( need to slap some sense into her )

You did the right thing!! Image how rude and disrespectful he'd be if you dated him. Your friend needs to realize "real men" respect women! Jmo

You were too kind to him.

Have been sleeved yet, but best believe when I have it, it will be pimped to the max lol

Hey Diva,, Unfortunately I have had this said to me as well...I react the same exact way...however, depending on my mindset there may be some "choice" words thrown in there too. One time I actually had a FAT guy say something like that to me and I couldn't believe it! lol...You are hot no matter what and will only get hotter as your weight goes down and confidence goes up...look out world for Sassy and Diva!!!! :P
