I came into this game with a lot more hair loss than most vsg patients experience after it. I just had surgery last month so I haven't started surgery-related hair loss yet, but I am sure it's just ar

My hair loss started at 3 months and ended at 6 months like clockwork. I'll admit, I lost about 60% of my hair. I had some very thin spots that I just made sure I kept my hair combed in that area.

Unfortunately no suggestions but here to commiserate! I already have thinner hair it is getting to the point where I am afraid of literal bald spots, not just thinning. I am 8 months out, a lot of people say months 6 - 9 are the worst. So I am hoping it stops soon!

Omg! I barely at 3 1/2 months and its already bad i couldn't image that far out....I guess you have to sacrifice some things...good luck I hope things get better soon

OMG!!!!!!!!! me too,, i have long hair and its thin to begin with . i am 3 months post op and am noticing more coming out . I am freaking out but hopefully it will work itself out ...I PRAY !!!

Ok my NUT said to make sure that you are getting all your proteins in and that will help with the hair loss. I haven't had my surgery yet and this is my major worry. I already have thin hair to begin with and I can't afford to loss any. Goodluck!

Biotin 10,000 mg, prenatal vitamins, Biotin/Collagen Organix shampoo (purple bottle Walmart), not styling alot or using products much is what I am doing for my hair...I am right now 3 months out...struggle with protein...dread the hair more than anything...got hair nearly to my waist...it's all I got as the saying goes....good luck to all of us with the hair!!!!

@Djmelen is there anyway you can post a before and after pics

When the time comes, I'm going to get a weave. I have long hair & don't intend on cutting it.

I feel like I'm going bald too!!! I take 20K mcgs of biotin a day, and that doesn't seem to help. I am about 4.5 months post op. I don't know if a weave would work, since the hair is falling out by the roots. Don't you have to connect the weave to existing hair? Someone else said Fructise fall out shampoo worked miracles. I'm going out tonight to buy some!

I have noticed by using the fight fall shampoo, I loose less in the shower.... I'm 5 months post and the hair loss is devastating. I also use the Topix powder stuff from Sally's and got a pixie cut. I would love to hear from some white girls that got weaves, how they looked, how long they lasted and how much they cost. These are desperate times!

I came into this game with a lot more hair loss than most vsg patients experience after it. I just had surgery last month so I haven't started surgery-related hair loss yet, but I am sure it's just around the corner. Now I can pretty much hide most of my hair loss with Toppix or Nanogen, but if I lose more, I'm not going to be fooling anyone other than myself. So I have an appointment here tomorrow:

http://www.hairforwomenhpi.com/

they do custom hair pieces and wigs for women. Supposed to be one of the best places in the country. I may need to sell off some of my investment funds to be able to afford it, but I think it's worth it. I'll be sure to report back :)

(I have mixed feelings about this, hence the conflicting emoticons)

I'm only about two weeks out and I'm terrified of this!!!

My hair loss started at 3 months and ended at 6 months like clockwork. I'll admit, I lost about 60% of my hair. I had some very thin spots that I just made sure I kept my hair combed in that area. It started growing back around month 7. The thin spots have all filled in and I have about 3 inches of wild re-growth all over! I'm 1 year out now. So, it does grow back, but it will take time. I've been slowing cutting my hair so it meets up with the new hair quicker. My guess is it will take about a year, but at least it's happening. For a while, I was afraid to put my hair in a ponytail because I was afraid it would break off all in one piece! But it won't. It is scary, but knowing that it will come back makes it more tolerable. Make sure you're getting in lots of Protein and Biotin!!!!!
