  1. Will your MD support your doing Optifast?
  2. Sure it will. But the discomfort is not likely related to the drain. Use the pain meds when you need to. Probably can stop within a few days. Walk, sip water and nap (I DO love naps... and my dogs do too).
  3. Well welcome friend. Are you thinking abourt weight loss surgery?
  4. You are at a very important time. You can't eat a lot, but you can eat OFTEN (and if it's slider foods it will equal A LOT). Consider going back to basics. A liquid diet for a week. Some swear by 5:2. When you start earing these junk foods, they build on you and you Must Have More! You may (like me) be an addict who cannot have any!!! Oh best of luck.
  5. Bwa Ha Ha!~ Which is why we Love you so! Actually you DO give a f**k. You are just brutally candid. Some can take it, some can't. I can. Keep it up, babe...
  6. YES, but if it does on for too long, call the MD.
  7. Why not enjoy your B'day??? Here's something to think about. Celebrate and enjoy whilst not placing food on a pedistal??? Food is fun, but we are all learning to have a more normal relationship with the food we need to live. There is so much more to life than food, and Happy Birthday!!!
  8. hummas, eggs, yogut, cottage cheese, avocado, and non-starcy veggies...
  9. Sweetheart, there are similar threads on this board... People DO treat fat folks differently and as you lose that is hard to deal with... Just know that we are here for you.
  10. I don't have percentages, but it's not uncommon whenever one loses weight rapidly. Your MD will watch for this and you may have to take some Rx for six months or so. IF your GB is funky now, they can deal it at the same time they do the sleeve!
  11. Chi Baby, Spot on!!! It's OK to be frustrated, just don't give up! Follow that program of yours, and you will get there!
  12. Well why we all would love FAST the trick is to lose permanently. This thread has given a lot of good support. Have faith, and keep going!!!
  13. Great!!!! Keep with your program and rock on!
  14. was told no shaving, and THEY shaved what needed to be shaved!
  15. OMG! 6.6 pounds a week would be incredible. You might lose this much sometimes, but don't expect it. Your loss will be based on an interplay of calories, activity, your sex, age. I lose 1 to 3 pounds a week, and since I am in this for life, I am happy. Just follow your program each and every day!
  16. Please post! That's how we learn!!! Follow your plan! Your plan is different, and follow it nonetheless!!!
  17. Just stick with it, dude!!! It gets better in a few days!
  18. Welcome! You are welcome here, friend!
  19. I gained 10 # during hospitalization (water weight from IV). Took me 2 weeks to get back to baseline. I lose from 1 to 3 # per week (and am 5 months out from surgery.
  20. Precisely as long as it takes ( :-) ) I lost 100 in about 10 months from my highest weight (423), and am 5 months out. I lose from 1 to 3 # a week now. I am in no hurry. I have plenty more to go. No journey is too long if you don't stop walking.
  21. All roads may lead to Rome. Follow YOUR plan! I'll follow my plan and we all share our plans with each other. No riot darlin' . We all want to learn. My MD and NUT say no straws, no carbonation, no chewing gum, no liquids with meals, focus on protein and then veggies, write everything down, and be active. I'll do what they say (I already drink coffee, so perfect I ain't). I am a rules follower (mostly) I guess. I want this to work even if it be VOODOO!!!
  22. Yes, feeling normal is pretty normal. SEE, it DID get better! :-)
  23. Yep! I seem to lose inches when I am not losing pounds!!!
