Which Pre-Op appointments did your spouse/significant other attend?
My wife came to my nutrition, exercise and surgery classes.

First Date after VSG...
Protein, and remember to not ask for any Water or liquids. And absolutely focus on the company rather than the food. Have Fun!

How much do i weigh?
Sigh. HAHA, this is the wrong place to ask. I guarantee you that after losing nearly 100 pounds I still seem the same in the mirror. Very strange...

Food Choices
Most are good choices except for DD. Listen, the sleeve is cool. It changes your "architecture" and can help you lose weight. That said, there are plenty of folks who lose and regain after the sleeve. Please don't be one of them! You need your head in the game. Have ready made shakes with you to drink with your Black coffee. Start your day with a plan, and then follow the plan! We all have evil brains that want (Oh how much they want) us to give up and eat, eat, eat. It takes a LOT of work to get and stay in control! Good luck and PLEASE tell me how you are doing, little friend!

Do you have any post op instructions or guidance?

In Sleep Study Hell!
I am sorry that your medical supports are BAD! Get the results and take to your MD (PCP or Pulmonologist) and they can write you a script (Rx). You should work with a reputible "durible medical supplies" group who can fit you properly. I LOVE my CPAP now, and I, like you, did not believe that I had any apnea at all. Now I sleep WONDERFULLY and use it every single night!!!

Hiatal Hernia?
I think the odds are that you'll "feel" GB discomfort more than that of a hernia... so I am with Gluten Mom...

Liquid protein -YUKKKKK!
There are A LOT of protein options. Google and check them out. Most allow you to buy sample packs. I use (and like) Unjury.

Been on this pre op diet for 10 days...
During this "fast" I'd ignore the scale. You WILL lose weight, but it may be in fits and starts. Certainly you are on "too few" calories, but you are fasting more to shrink your liver than to make dramatic weight losses...

Sex..
The two systems are unrelated, if by 'down there' you mean the vagina? If so, likely more a cycle thing. If your surgical incisions started bleeding though, check in with your MD.

Diet pills
no ma'am, I didn't. Your appetite might 'self-supress' after 3 or 4 days, though...
-
First stools
Are you in any discomfort or have a fever? If so do not "pass go' and call your MD. If not the CA-Medic has a good approach. Wait for your second bowel movement and assess. If still black, see the MD!

It is A.......!
:-), keep her growing, Mom!

Federal blue cross blue shield basic
The entire pre-op was 5 and 1/2 months for me. Once submitted the sleeve approval was within 2 weeks.

Weird expearience-does anyone know what this is or have it happen to them?
Lots of folks do report increased burping, so??? Just play through and it may resolve!

Relationships
feel free to keep in touch here, but also consider the value of a professional therapuyic relationship. PS, you deserve the Best!!! And sometimes weight loss comes second.

Pain Level after Surgery
I had the straight sleeve and had some discomfory that was well-managed by the good Rx in the hospital. I stopped all pain meds two days after returning home.
-
What are some symptoms/signs of you not taking your vitamins?
Vitamins might be a distraction (though you need these suppliments for the rest of your life. It's part of the sleeve "deal"). What maybe, just maybe needs to be your first concern is getting back on the program. Please get your head back in the game and get control. I do not want you to regain all your losses, and that does happen. Consider talking to a therapist - nothing wrong with that!!!
-
I'm hungry!
Yes this CAN happen. AND it means, IMHO, that now is the time to really get control. Have your plan and meals and food PLANNED abd follow your plan. Don't "just a little bite of this and that" off the plan unless and until your head is 100% in control of the evil food brain monster. Nobody got fat from a little hunger!!!

Did surgery clear your sleep apnea?
It can resolve as you lose weight. Me, I like the CPAP sleep, so I have learned to "love" the mask that turns be into a Borg (Star Trek reference).

Ladies TMI Incontinence
obesity and incontinence are related (men and women!). Improving the obesity can help!

Using CPAP after surgery
Took it and used it in the hospital. Still have the "return to the patient" sticker on it. I am a believer!!! CPAP (and sleep) rocks!
