I am day two post-op, hopefully going home today. I'm doing pretty well with nausea and vomiting, considering the fact that I haven't had any. I'm just in a whole lot of pain. Will it subside a little when the drain comes out? Just wondering.

I had my surgery on the Oct 22nd. I didn't have any pain from my drain but noticed that when they took it out I felt better. It didn't hurt coming out, but felt a little weird. Good luck!

Sure it will. But the discomfort is not likely related to the drain. Use the pain meds when you need to. Probably can stop within a few days. Walk, sip water and nap (I DO love naps... and my dogs do too).

The drain was the biggest aggravation for me. I had an infection around the drain site, and have been on antibiotics for 7 days, finally it's healing. Also, I'm stuck with weight loss, even though I'm not even eating 500 calories a day. It's my third week since surgery. Anyone else get stuck at this point? I'm getting discouraged.
