  1. So, why would they make a band that held more fill if they didn't want the doctors to fill it to their potential? I hear of people on here with 4.5 in a 4 cc band and they are flying high and doing just fine. I would see if there was another fill doctor in your area who is not stopping you from getting the fill you need. This band doesn't work without it. You should call and ask your doctor this and once you find a better fill doctor let him know you will be taking your fill money elsewhere since he can't help you any longer.
  2. I think that if you are happy with where you are then the band has worked for you and is continuing to work for you by letting you stay at a level you are comfortable with and still be able to eat the foods you want in smaller amounts. This was the reason we all got the band, so congrats and it is good to know that even after 3 years all is well with the band and it continues to keep you from gaining any weight. I hope you can figure out what is causing your nausea...since to me there is nothing worse. GOOD LUCK!
  3. Did you ever think the band could be causing your chronic nausea? Would you consider have it taken out? Do you still eat a lot less but eat around the band?? I feel like if I were to stop trying I could just sit here too until my head was in the right place to try to start losing again. I am not even half way to where I want to be. Do you think you are causing more damage keeping the band in and not following the rules than you would be to just have it out? Just questions I have, hope you don't feel I'm being pushy?
  4. yep, definately gas pain, I still get it there now too if I drink a carbonated drink.
  5. Lets look at it this way. I have had my band over a year and last night I overate and by over eat I mean half a peice of fish and threw up harshly. Relearning how to eat after 27 years of eating the way I did had still not happened for me. If I were to have the band out I would balloon back up to over 300 I'm sure of it. It is not about learning how to eat right. You know how to eat right now. It is the control you have over your eating. You need to make this decision for yourself and when your husband has to have a bariatric surgery for himself he can choose what he wants. Don't do something to your body you aren't comfortable with. Stand your ground!
  6. I have never had big arms until I started losing weight. So, Ok, I didn't realize they had gotten so big until they started going batty. I am totally freaked out by this and the boobalah's hanging. Has anyone had these procedures that can weigh the good with the bad. The scars vs. the sagging skin. It is the arms I am worried about most. Do I want to snip em up just to keep em covered up due to scars?? Also has anyone ever had the procedures and had a major keloid scar, like across the pani? These are the things I am worried about, because I know I will need these things now. At this rate I will never get down low enough to worry about it, but just in case my butt gets in gear???
  7. It is mocking, since he last made me mad I just look at him from across the bathroom in pure hatred to see if he will wince, but he doesn't. Crappin piece of glass see through digital biatch!
  8. I could have written your e-mail myself. I am in a frump too! Now no one throw anything at me but I haven't had a lick of exercise in 1 month. THe exact time I got out for Christmas break at school. I start back to school tomorrow and I'm hoping the walking I do at school with get the hitch outta my getalong. I have also gone buck wild crazy with my eating. I am not lying that I consumed a bag of peanut butter m&m's and a tub o popcorn with fake butter on Saturday. It took me 2 and half hours straight to eat all of that, during the new Queen Latifah movie, but I did it. I am really surprised at the way I ate everything in sight this weekend. When I eat like this it makes me feel even worse and then the frumps stay around longer. I hope you are feeling better and as soon as I get of work tonight I am going to be a walkin fool. I hope it works!!
  9. I have never been diagnosed but have had many episodes of this also. ESPECIALLY RIGHT AFTER LAP BAND SURGERY. I thought it was because of my diet and laying around do much after the surgery. Like my legs hadn't had anything to do all day so when I went to bed at night they were wanting to move move move. I know it is a deficiency and hope that it only pops up in life when I am eating bad. I hope to never have it permanantly because it drives me nuts!! The only thing that stops mine is to walk around my dark house. I hope with everyone elses posts you can figure this thing out.
  10. Thanks Kelly for checkin in anyways! We do appreciate ya!
  11. Oh, thanks Heather. I will try to attatch to my avatar now. You are awesome!
  12. My boss calls me a frap ho instead of a crack ho. Cause some days I would do anything for one. Some days they are the only thing I can get down...If I could just find out who is hiding the caramel mocha frappacino and peanut M&M diet plan I would be right on track. I could live off those 2 things the rest of my days.
  13. I'm hoping she can at least cut out the frappacino...how bad is that! HA!
  14. I so can't figure out how to make this just my face. I have a picture and can't attatch it since it is a jpeg. I am so not technically inclined sometimes. This pic over 6 months old and 25 pounds heavier but I'm tired of not having an Avatar. Can you please help!! I've seen you work your magic and as our official Admin I need your expertise. If this comes through I am the one on the left and just want me in the pic on my avatar. Thanks in advance for your help!! I attatched it at the bottom I think. Lord, I'm lost! Thanks a bunch, Kim
  15. There are books and websites on the minimalist diet where you eat very few calories. It was on Dateline or something like that years ago. These people ate very few calories and they all stated it helped the people doing it live longer and look younger. They actually did. I would look it up to see what you think. I have counting that I am taking in around 1000 calories a day and with no exercise have not been able to lose weight. It is scary to think that a 215 pound person can maintain their body weight with 1000 calories a day.
  16. For a week now I have been having the dizzies too along with sinus problems, snotties and some coughing. My mom had this same issue last week worse than me and they told her it was a sinus infection and the drainage on the ear is causing the dizziness. Since I haven't had a fever I am just doctoring up with anything they make in liquid form. I think the Dayquil makes me more dizzy though. I really think it is just a bug going around. Mine seems to be lasting longer than normal though and I never knew I could be so lethargic without a fever, I was even disoriented for a few days there. Is seems to be getting better slowly. If yours doesn't get better with the latest drugs you were given I would definately check for more testing. As for the acid reflux it would not hurt to have an endoscopy and it will ease any questions you have. I hope you get to feeling better soon and we can both kick this bug.
  17. Here's my 2 cents. I paid close to $2000.00 for my photos. Why in the world will I ever need 15 8x 10's and a million 5 x 7's and 11 x 14's. I liked 1 of the photos. All you really need is 1 nice photo to enlarge and the rest need to go in a book somewhere. We had our engagement photos done and you really only need one pose to hand out. I have all these pictures left over I will never do anything with. And my brother in law took better pics of us than the photographer did. Decide what you can actually hang in you and your families house and the rest can go in a photo book of proofs. A friend of mine found a photographer that took all the pics and then posted them online and handed out cards at the wedding so the family could go on and buy what they wanted and order online for themselves and she only had to buy what she wanted for herself. My point, I guess, is to not buy a huge package. You seriously only need one wedding picture of you hanging on the wall somewhere. Find a photographer who's style you like and don't spend a fortune excess pictures.
  18. I thikn everyone with extended family has this same problem. My step dad was upset because he thought I was serious when I was joking about both of them walking me down the isle. Then he got mad because I didn't ask him to be in a picture with me by myself, not intentionally, just because it was my wedding day and everything went by in a rush. He didn't step up either. She is not going to make everyone happy with her decisions, but the others need to put their feelings aside for the day. She shouldn't feel pressure from everyone as to what to do. And if all else fails I say ELOPE! Is it too late for that? If I would have known better I would have. I still get mad thinking of all of the little things that everyone was offended by. Now, the difference is I paid for my own wedding. Whoever is paying should be able to voice some opinions but none against the rest of the family. I feel for your sister because I have so been there. Tell her whatever makes her happy is what she needs to do and as the sister it is your job to go behind her putting out the little fires discretely with your mom and dad to make this day as easy as possible for her. I had to do everything myself for my wedding. I don't have the meddling mothers that wanted to plan every last thing. I could have used some help with things like that, but oh well. But I was exhausted from planning and decorating by the time it came. One of my mothers wanted to leave before I even threw the bouquet because I was sitting with some friends of mine instead of them at the small reception, which lasted all of 30 minutes that I can remember. Try everything in your power to help your sister not be stressed and to enjoy her day. I needed a sister like you during that time that was interested in getting advice for me. Stay close to her and don't take anything she says personally in the time until the wedding. Good Luck. Sorry this was long and moved around a lot.
  19. Ok, maybe I missed a few hours on the site but I had nver heard before now of your band erosion and removal. I'm guessing it was someting that happened fast and you are probably going through a lot now! I just wanted to start a thread so you will know everyone is thinking of you and wish you the best of recovery! You are such a crack up on this site I look forward to all of your posts! I hope you stick with us for a while and ween us off you slowly. I hope Dr. Billy wasn't as harsh as it sounds especially coming out of his pretty mouth. I know you have other options and I hope wish you the best of luck on anything you decide and hope you stick around for us!! Hope your New Year is PB FREE!!! Kim
  20. I so want to do my whole body, except for my head of course! How much is it costing you if you don't mind me asking?
  21. looks like we all need smaller clothes and we are all giving away the same sizes HA!! Funny how we North Texans are all around the same size. I was at the Don Pablos in Mesquite last night and there wasnt a woman in there that was not obese. We have more restaurants per capita than any other in the area I think that helps our obesity problem in Mesquite. I just wanted to give my lap band card to every woman in that restaurant last night, specially since I was only able to eat 1 nacho from my plate before I was full. God I love this band!
  22. NEVER!! I thought mine was outrageous charging $25K. I would call the surgeon on that and ask why so high?? THey are gouging!!
  23. So true Rene. I was totally clueless to the world of these business organizations until I just started looking them up online. I've never been a joiner, but feel like it will get me where I need to be and give me the encouragment to keep forging on for the perfect career.
  24. I say go in and beat the sysytem, find a new surgeon! My surgeon, Dr. Powell at the Surgery Center Of Richardson didn't require a psych eval. Try them out. If you do need one, I say fake it. If you know you will stick with this band, I know it will help. I never was clinically depressed but even my depression slowly lifts as the pounds fall off. People may not like that I tell you to lie and that the psych eval is there for a reason, but if you have the comorbities along with being overweight you should not give up from this one doctor. There are many people on this board that go to several different doctors before they find the ones they like and will work the way they want to. DON'T GIVE UP! I just had a friend who went to the doctor because she is barely walking do to a bulging disc in her back. SHe asked him what could have caused this and her had the gall to put it to her this way, and I quote, " You can't put a ton in a half ton truck" He didn't sit her down and tell her the downfalls of being overweight with back problems, those were his exact words and they were repeated over and over in the appointment. Not all patients fit with all doctors. So you should go find the right one for you and don't take it lightly when they don't listen to you. Keep your head up and just don't give up for something we all fell so strongly about!
  25. I'm right there with you. I want to lose more weight this next year than I lost in 2005, that is my only goal!! We can do it!! Go 2006!
