Interesting. I'm sure we balance it out because it is harder to get pregnant when you are overweight. That is why the lap band used to be called the "fertility band." People that were losing the weight steadied their hormones and caused fertility. I myself had this surgery so I could get down to a healthy weight in order to have children. Here's to crossing our fingers th pills still work so that I don't pop up pregnant on the way down!

I was given a 2 week low carb pre-diet that I didn't stick too very well. I figured they would have some test that figured this out and they would send me home from the surgery because of it. Obviously there were no issues and no problems due to it. I does help with the hunger after the surgery I felt. I didn't want to eat or drink anything my first week out. Everyone is different, just know that when they are operating it makes it easier to get the band around your stomach when there is less fat around your liver. The placement will be better and recovery easier. I almost cancelled my surgery because I couldn't stick to my pre-surgery diet. I'm glad I didn't....

SWEET PETE!!!! Ya'll crack me up. I can't wait until I am a crazy old lady. If I don't lose my mind I will at least pretend to drive everyone around me nuts. I plan to start this wicked plan of mine if I make it to 80 so it will look more real. I will hopefully be known as crazy aunt Kim one day. I'm trying to think of things I can do to flip the young kids around me out? I will definately tell everyone that my name is Britany Spears and wear mini skirts all day. I do love the Bondo idea! Maybe they will have something stronger by then. I can't wait!!

When you have your fills do they suck up what is already in the band to make sure there are no leaks? I have had one fill and no restriction yet, but I am guessing this is normal. I doubt that it should be normal after 3 fills. I would definately make sure that the Fluid is in the band and have you doctor look at it under flouro. To make sure you aren't having any troubles beyond needing more of a fill. What size band do you have? Some people have larger band types and it takes more to tighten them. These are a lot of things I would ask my doc. Let your doc know that it is not working with you and be persistent with them. You spent a lot of time and money on this band for it not to work! Kim

Yes, but we see snow if we are lucky 1 day out of the year. Everyone runs around like children here in Dallas. I am at work in Coppell and the snow is beautiful. Not sticking to the streets though so I will be here through the end of the day:angry ...oh well, just nice to look out from my little cubicle and see white everywhere....I'm sure my 30 mile drive home will be lovely. One thing we Texans don't do well is drive in any kind of precipitation. You just need to slow down to 65 when it snows right???

Marie, you're right. At the restaurant I went to for lunch yesterday I would have normally eaten not only what I ate, but a BBQ sandwich to go with it and probably 5 extra rolls with butter. I am eating a lot less. I just thought it would be a lot less than this. But I did count the days and it is "MY WEEK" that I usually eat everything in sight for the month. SO i bet that is not helping one bit. I am taking it day by day and staying away from the scale!
