  1. You are really smart . I did the same thing Had a bite of scrambled egg and waited awhile to see how it would work. I'm still amazed that I can eat so little and feel full
  2. You look great! How much have you lost?
  3. I have had a couple of stalls but I ignore them and stay with the plan. I do not have any regrets. Today three different people asked me if I was losing weight and then they said I was looking very good. Made my day!!!!
  4. Congratulations! Welcome to the losers bench.
  5. I lost 9 pounds before surgery on 12/26/12. Day of surgery I was 248 and I'm at 211 now. That's 37 pounds since surgery and 46 overall. It looks like this may be on par with everyone else. I thought I was a slow loser but maybe not? I could use some help though. I average about 600 calories a day Lots of people say to up your calories to boost your metabolism but I can't figure out how to get that done. Any suggestions?
  6. Welcome! You'll love the sleeved life. It takes a bit of adjusting but it's all worth it.
  7. I was sleeved on 12/26/12. I have no regrets. You can drive yourself absolutely crazy reading all the negative stuff. I'm down 46 pounds in 3 months. I'm a bit of a slow loser but I'm very happy with 46 pounds. I generally lose 3 - 4 pounds each WEEK. I could never have done that on my own - and I certainly tried. There will always be people who had issues with the surgery - but I really feel that's not the overwhelming population. You should read all the commentary and make your own decision. That's what i did. Good luck to you in whatever decision you choose. I have never been happier with myself.
  8. congratulations - you have a great attitude and that will take you far. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your surgery. remember to sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk, walk, walk!
  9. I'm 2.5 months out. I eat a lot of eggs, ham, talapia, shrimp, turkey and cooked veggies ( no corn ). I am not eating pasta, rice, desserts, candy - in fact I tried a bite a week ago and I was sick to my stomach Cheese and I don't get along. I LOVE cheese and this is bumming me out. I haven't had any luck with mashed potatoes, refrained beans or salad I average 500-700 calories a day.
  10. You will get there. Everyone is right. Once you get rid of all that fluid you'll be on your way to the losers bench!
  11. Ahhhh. The dreaded three week stall. Hang in there. Your body is playing catch up Don't change a thing . You will be losing again real soon
  12. Bending over to tie my shoes without leaning sideways .
  13. I am also guilty of weighing everyday. It helps motivate me. When I'm losing it feels good and gives me an incentive to keep working hard. Of I'm in a stall - I back off from weighing every day so that I don't get discouraged. I love all your tips. Thanks for sharing
  14. Please take Cheri's advice. I love her posts. She's positive and really helpful. Congrats on the weight loss and I hope you get some answers
  15. I agree. Day 4 was rough. It's all downhill from there. You're going to love your sleeved life.
  16. My face first, then my breasts, then my belly. Saw my son this weekend for the first time in 5 weeks and he told me I'm looking skinny! OMG I've NEVER been called skinny.
  17. I paid $12,000 myself. Best money I ever spent.
  18. I walk every other day. I'm getting in 3 miles at a minimum. I'll be glad when the weather warms up - I love walking outside.
  19. I was a little nervous but figured that was normal
  20. It really does get easier. I was also a self pay patient and very concerned about getting dehydrated. I sipped a lot of water. I found it easier to sip warm liquids. Good luck to you
  21. I also have a problem eating too fast. It takes practice but I'm getting there
