Scheduled for March 19; freaking OUT!

I am scheduled to go from a lap band to a gastric sleeve and I am so nervous. I have made the mistake of reading EVERYTHING online about the gastric sleeve and it has frightened me to the point of backing out. I am on the verge of calling my doctor and telling him I've changed my mind. Is anyone in the same boat as me? Those of you who have had the surgery, were you satisfied? Is it worth it? Will the weight loss be better than the lap band (I lost only about 20lbs TOTAL)? I appreciate any comments and advice/suggestions.

It is so worth it!! I'm almost 24 weeks out and I'm at 62 lbs down. I worked out a few years ago, 3 times a week anywhere from 1 to 2 hours and only lost 12 lbs in 9 MONTHS!!! I lost 12 lbs in a week with my sleeve.... I have my losses and my plateau's and Thank Goodness I haven't had a gain... I know I can do better if I would go to the gym!! I have a membership, just haven't been going...

I was sleeved on 12/26/12. I have no regrets. You can drive yourself absolutely crazy reading all the negative stuff. I'm down 46 pounds in 3 months. I'm a bit of a slow loser but I'm very happy with 46 pounds. I generally lose 3 - 4 pounds each WEEK. I could never have done that on my own - and I certainly tried. There will always be people who had issues with the surgery - but I really feel that's not the overwhelming population. You should read all the commentary and make your own decision. That's what i did. Good luck to you in whatever decision you choose. I have never been happier with myself.
