  1. I hate to say it, but he may be feeling a little insecure about how you'll look down the track. Good luck with your surgery.
  2. Blood tests are reliable indicator. They do a liver fuction test and if you have a high BMI and a struggling liver it's likely you have a fatty enlarged liver.
  3. When was the last time you lost 26 pounds in less than a month?
  4. I had similar happening for a while. I'd be uncomfortable after the evening meal. I worked out I was just eating way too quickly for dinner. As far as variances go I have some days where I struggle to get 5 or 6 hundred and others where I've just busted 1000. I'm about 9 1/2 weeks post op.
  5. Nice. If you're having some rapid weight loss and low carbohydrates it could also be ketosis.
  6. I'm glad you've emailed your surgeon. The variance in advice from them on lots of subjects is bizzare - pre op diets, straws, coffee the list is endless. My thoughts are we chosen a surgeon for a number of reasons. We're trusting them to do a good job and take care of us. We need to do as we're told (or ask questions!) Deano
  7. Same. I keep some in my work bag so that if I'm out and about on a job I don't get caught out. You really have to research them, some are particularly high in carbs / cals.
  8. My wife does this and makes it extra thick to make a few different healthy dips, like tzatziki.
  9. Hey, You'll have to excuse their labels / marketing with cartoon bodybuilding freaks, but I really like Max's products. They're the only ones I've found that I don't mind with Water. http://www.maxs.com.au/
  10. Hiya. I'm sorry this has happened. I have no idea what the solution is. I'm a detective with the police in Australia. I'm also an on call Negotiator. I unfortunately at times speak with people at pretty dark times in their lives because they've stopped taking their meds. I'm sure you're under a huge amount of pressure. Please don't change or stop taking your medication without speaking with your psychiatrist. I'm sure there's a solution. Maybe get your weight loss professionals speaking with the mental heath professionals to come up with a solution - that's what we pay them for! All the best, Deano
  11. sleep is really important for weight loss. You need to plan and work your schedule backwards for the 8am start to work out what time you need to get up and then what time you need to go to bed from there to get 7 or 8 hours. Mentally if you know what your 'bed time' is once your in your routine it will be easier to get to sleep at that time. I work shift work so I'm used to dealing with sleep issues. I sometimes resort to over the counter / herbal sleeping tablets. Some of them are really effective.
  12. I'm 9 weeks post op. My kids do nippers (like training to be lifesavers for kids in Australia) I'd always been fine in the surf. Strong swimmer and the waves just seem to bounce off me. Last Sunday I got dumped by the surf a number of times like I was a rag doll. It was quite funny. So I know what you mean.
  13. Isn't it cool to exercise because you enjoy it and to be fit and not because you should to lose weight? I have a whole new relationship with training.
  14. Just read this whole thread. Great to see a happy ending!
  15. I didn't want anyone around for the first day. Just wanted to walk the halls and rest.
  16. That's awesome. Good work with the discrete perving at the movies !
  17. Just know that it's for a short time and by sticking to your pre op diet you'll get the best outcome post surgery. Tough it out and remember why you're doing this! Good luck, Deano
  18. Hey. Congrats on the loss. You need to go back to basics. Plan your food / meals / Snacks every day and stick to it. No grazing. Don't waste this opportunity! Good luck, Deano
  19. That looks awesome. Chickpeas and quinoa. Two of my favs. BOOOM!
  20. Looks delicious! - but where's the protein??
  21. I eat much more seafood post op than I did pre op. Some chicken. Red meat doesn't do it for me anymore. Having said that I cooked some baby back pork ribs today for friends for lunch. 6 hours smoked on hickory low and slow. Normally I would have eaten a full rack (I know!). Today I had one rib. I love my sleeve. You'll be fine. Fish, legumes, eggs are great sources of Protein. Good luck, Deano

This was the same for me. After the 2+2+2 I could start introducing 'normal' foods. It's a slow process.
  23. Everything you've mentioned is perfectly normal, including how your feeling. Stalls are part of the process and you will continue to lose weight. If you search 'stall' on the forum you will see how common it is. You have to get your Fluid in. Have you tried some diet cordial?
  24. For me I didn't find any problem in adjusting to portion control quickly. It was eating too quickly for me, but that's improved a lot over the last few weeks.
