People and their ridiculous expectations....
True Laura, it's a Forum not a Library. I can understand why people want to discuss and not just search. This is after all a new frontier for many others every day.

People and their ridiculous expectations....
I agree, I guess 99% Cherie. I love your posts BTW. I do like to make 'some' allowance for the anxiety some people have after a lifetime of dieting and gaining weight and now they are having a crack at what they see as (or what may be) their last chance to lose weight. Maybe with self esteem, that because of that is in the toilet, and they're worried they might fail WLS. For example people freaking out over stalls. If they searched the forum they would get that they happen to almost everyone, but I understand that with no confidence, they might think that they are 'the one' WLS won't work for. Cheers, Deano

is sleeve healthy or starvation?
And within a really short time lots of people are- * feeling heathier than they have in ages / ever. * Are starting to come off medications for co morbidities. * Relived of undiagnosed depression and are starting to enjoy life. * Don't feel hunger or don't feel hunger like they used to. * Are having blood tests to ensure their nutrient levels are ok. * Are doing more physical activity than they have in a long time. I dunno, sometimes I really think that other people that make general negative comments don't know enough about the proceedure and outcomes, even if they work in health care. Good luck at your meeting Deano

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Hey mate - what will your BMI be at 58? You look perfectly proportionate and healthy to me. It must've been a real shock for your family and friends to see you lose so quick. Maybe when they're saying 'don't lose anymore' they're gauging your reaction to make sure you're not planning on losing a heap more. You look great (provided your BMI is healthy) You should be enjoying it! Deano

Thanks mate. I'm enjoying watching you shoot the lights out. I don't know what it's like for you - it seems like I blinked and you lost that last 50 pounds. Very impressed. Deano

Breathrough in bariatrics?
I cut their knees out from under them. My standard response is "I'd hardly call 25 years of dieting, losing and gaining weight to the point that I had life threatening surgery a quick fix". I've only had to use it once. She's a moron so it's not her fault

Breathrough in bariatrics?
Sorry. But that's gross.

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Awesome post Kristi. I think your story would probably be text book what happens to people with the band to VSG window, so don't beat yourself up. I've found, and I think most people are the same, that when you have a blow out like that and put on some snappy kilo's they come off pretty quickly when you reign it in. I'm sure it will be reflected on the scale. As for your Dr's advice, you'd think everyone would know it's 'possible' to switch in one procedure. I know they all of their funny ways - maybe when he said everyone, he meant his everyone ie all of his patients? Good luck - sounds like your in a good head space now Deano

Gee some Dr's are shockers!

One month out and lost 40 pounds so far, but I'm stalling now.
My body does that as well. I have good losses and then it stops before starting again. I think of it like it's consolidating what I've lost before regrouping for another run.

5 and half hours from surgery!

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
I've heard some good things about him. Have you posted in the Australian Sleevers thread? There's a few of us from Brisbane on there. It's good to get some local support!

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
I think your killing it. There are lots for women who seem to lose slower, for reasons beyond their control. We're all going to get there though. Really if it takes someone 6 months and another 12 months to get to goal, do you think either will care in a few years if they're still at goal? I'm from Brisvegas as well. Who was your surgeon? Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
We're not that dissimilar when you look at BMI. When we get our BMI down another 3 or 4 we'll no longer be obese. I'm looking forward to only being 'only overweight'. How good is that!?

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
Hey. I'm 9 weeks PO today. Sleeved Nov 7 2012. I was 303 and now 242. I'm about half way to goal. Laura - your BMI has come down from 40 to 34, so I guess that isn't slow? Good luck everyone, Deano
-
Insanity workout
I find my calories at this stage (9 weeks PO) are so low that if I go too hard I get light headed.

Does Splenda hinder weight loss?
I tell people 'it's hard treating your body like a temple after it's been a porta-potti for so long!'
