I know everyone says it gets easier, trust me it does. I am 2 1/2 months out from surgery. It's already so much better than it was in the beginning. You will be able to eat and more as time goes on. You just won't be able to eat large quantities in one setting. Having a supportive husband will really help you along the way. You can still go out to eat but maybe just order an appetizer in the early months. Also over time you can get more and more calories in, you will be just fine. Just hang in there!

I initially wanted the Lap Band. While doing my research a friend mentioned the sleeve to me. That was the first time that I had even heard of it. After researching the differences, reading tons of posts here, and watching tons of You Tube videos I decided the sleeve would be best for me. Also at the WLS seminar my surgeon showed several comparisons between the sleeve, the Lap Band and gastric bypass. It seemed to me that the sleeve is right in the middle as far as the risks are concerned. Also the success rate seems higher with sleeve patients vs. Lap Band patients.

I just try not to drink anything 30 min before and after my meal. I don't drink during either. This is what I was told to do by the NUT and surgeon. I try to start drinking early in the morning and take in a few oz every few minutes so I can get in my 64 oz. Hope this helps.

Dont let someone get that much of your ear ever again! As soon as negativity starts to come out of someone's mouth... Shut them down! I tend to tell people "I'm not hearing anything negative right now, leave a message at the beep.. Beep... "(Walk away)
Shame on her. She works with you, she doesn't know you! She doesn't know and/ or understand your struggles.... and she doesn't need to! You did this for YOU!

Had a few of those moments as well over the past couple of months. I made a decision not to deprive myself as it would only increase the craving. Hit the corner store, purchased a small bag and had 4 or 5 cheetos which satisfied the need. I threw the remaining ones away and moved on.
While there will be some that will say this was a bad idea, I still see it as a victory. Once upon a time I would have eaten a grab bag size or larger without a second thought so to have 4/5 and be good was an accomplishment for me.

Well, I suppose it's a good place to be... buying all new clothes! But it's expensive!
I work in a professional setting and am in senior management, so I need to dress up a little. I had to buy all new spring/summer clothes, bought just enough for a week. Now I am buying all new fall/winter clothes, just enough for a week. I have a few pounds left to lose, so I bet I have to buy all new spring/summer again next year!
In spite of going broke, I'm having the time of my life! I can't believe I'm not shopping in the Plus Size section at retail stores or shopping Plus Size sites online!! I usually have no idea what size I wear, so I throw 3 sizes of whatever in my bag. Heck, I can't believe I'm out shopping at all - before I couldn't stand and walk that long.
I'm trying to keep purchases centered around a color/style theme so I can mix and match, but I will NOT buy black ever again! I used to try to hide behind black. No more!

My faith is surely what got me through the surgery and what will continue to carry me through my entire journey! I kept praying and asking God if I was making the right choice. I too kept looking for signs that this wasn't the right choice for me. I kept getting positive feedback/signs every way I turned! So on October 11th I was sleeved! It has been nothing but a positive experience so far!

The prayer.. Lord we love you and you're Our Father. We can and will do all things through Christ who gives us our strength. We declare that the decision we had made lines up with your will and that you continue to be the healer and helper that your are. Everyone under going surgery or have had surgery will have a steady recovery. We declare no leeks, dehydration, healthy mental attitude, and strength to endure. In Jesus name. Amen :-)

Ovaries, Uteris, gall bladder and apendix God gave as well and sometimes they make us sick and have to come out. By the way the breast sometimes have to be taken too. What God did not entend is for us to be sick.

I had my surgery 2-17-12 and I've lost 165lbs!I started at 381lbs and a BMI of 59.9 and now i weigh 216lbs and my BMI is 34 in just 8 months!I used Dr. Davidson in Dallas, Texas.Absolutely love this Dr.I lost my first 110lbs in the first 3 months.I've been wanting to talk to others but never thought to look for a APP like this.Best decision I've ever made in my life.

I have no clue about Iggy, I guess I will have to type in horror stories or something in the search box because everything I have seen has been so positive! I really like what cool breeze said about god wont take you anywhere that his grace wont or cant protect you, that was beautiful and i agree completely! All the positive experiences that people are having are very encouraging. However the horror stories aren't helping my nerves right now. Combine that with all that I have to do at work before I go out and I'm a mess. :-( I've prayed about it over and over and over again. I know I'll be just fine! If you have to.. Do it! I let it freak me out too haha i was crying my eyes out being wheeled into surgery (1 month ago next week!) and I had every scenario bouncing around in my head... I woke up and I was fine! There are definitely a few horror stories but most aren't! Be prepared, but in all honesty I wouldn't sweat it easy for me to say now, but I wish I wouldn't have been so upset before..

Oh my I feel the same way. I feel bad for Iggy and i hope you she comes through this. But at the same time I keep telling myself not to think negative. I still haven't had a date yet BUT GOOD LUCK!!!
