1. I do believe we lose inches before pounds. I could not get a size 2x polo over my head just 3 month ago and now it not only goes over my head it loose (not baggy loose) and I thought it would take at least 4-6 months to even get it to fit let alone fit comfortably. So that may be a good thing. I fitting into clothes I thought wouldn't happen til the end of the year or so
2. I am glad that u and your sis are doing fine. I don't believe its a sign but a way that God is saying once you have your surgery you must be careful, do what the doctors tell you. And remember that this is a Tool NOT the solution. It's the beginning of the rest of your life as a Sleever. You will be ok, God is with you.
3. Congrats on being SLEEVED. Prayers are heading towards you now. I am 8 weeks post-op on Sunday. I had ice chips for the first 12 hours after surgery so you're doing good. Keep up the good work.
4. We always have room for one more...have seat. lol I know what you mean when it comes those sf popsicles. I think I ate 3 boxes worth when I was in the all liquid stage (both pre & post surgery). I have 2 boxes of them left in my freezer. I was sleeved on June 26 and from June 12 (2 weeks b4 surgery) I was introduced to sf pops and sf fruit pops, liquid phase was alright. lol Good luck to you and keep us posted.
5. That's great, let us know how things go. Congrats!!!
6. Hello Patrick, YES! I too can see a difference. God is blessing you and each of us everyday. He doesn't give up...why should we? You doing great. Keep it up...we will all get to our goals - one pound at a time. God's blessings to you and each VST sleever
7. Fabulous!!! Simply FABULOUS!!! hot indeed. Keep up the fabulous work. Everybody give a standing ovation to Ms. tyvette04...clap clap clap clap clap
8. So true. My Doctor said I could eat wheat bread as long as I toast it, which was great news and yet I still past on it. Things are looking better. I'm proud of myself for that.
9. It is hard not to drink while eating. I have to catch myself because there are times when I may start to cough and reach for the water - that is getting up to go get the water. My NUT said if you have to drink...sip don't just drink it, sip it and only about a couple of sips then put it down and away from you.
10. That is fantastic!! ALL THE TIME, GOD IS SO GOOD. Congrats to you.
11. CoolBreeze posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
I ate a 3oz chicken thigh that I would have chopped up and put on wheat toast with mayo & seasonings but decided not to. And for me, that's huge since I would've made a sandwich in a heartbeat. Has anyone else found themselves not doing something (pre-surgery) that came oh so natural to you that now (post-surgery) you just don't want to?
12. I have only seen packages of pretzels (because my church was giving them out after 9am service), don't know anything other than that.
13. Not one regret here...had a rough patch in the beginning but I do not regret one minuet of making this decision...as of this post I lost another 2lbs! Regret? No! To date weight lost is:62lbs. I can't wait to go to Onederland!!!!!!!
14. I was in my church yesterday and when 9am service was over we have a fellowship right outside the sanctuary - iced tes, coffee, cake, Cookies, ect, this day I saw a bag of pretzels amongst everything else. It caught my attention because it was made by MEDIFAST so I read the back and wow (I thought), I can eat these. 110cal, 2g fat, 13g carbs, AND 11g Protein (now that is what caught my eye). I actually took a picture and sent it to my NUT & DOC, both said looks good...sounds good - I was happy!! The only my NUT said was try not to eat them everyday and one right after the other - I won't. But I just have now find out where to get them. Hope this help you.
15. Hi Lisa. Welcome to VST, its a great site and I am so happy I came across it. Like you, I was diagnosed with a few things that took me for a loop (high blood, sleep apnea, diabetes, arthritis). My best buddy was a quarter pounder or double whopper w/ all the fixin', and side of fries. I had to make a decision to STOP and do something about what was going with me. I yo-yo'd on diets for years (I'm 51) and my primary suggested bariatric surgery and it took me about a year to make up my mind to do it, and I am so glad I did. I had to do this for me and only me (I selfish at this point) because no one else could or would. I was sleeved on June 26 - lost 48lbs (total to date is 60lbs ), when I started my journey I weighed 289lbs...lost 12lbs by the time I made up y mind to go for it. Don't worry you have plenty of support here at VST. We're here for EACH OTHER and that is the joy of this site. Again, welcome.
16. I have seen Flatout bread in Giant stores -- for those who may live in the DC area.
17. Thank you..I never thought about doing that with the veggie and the shrimp. And I can put in chicken thighs too. Now what is 'Flatout pizza'?
18. I love chicken thighs. I love seafood (crab (imitation too), shrimp, scallops. Need new ways to fix them. Especially shrimp toast (doctor says I can eat wheat bread as long as its toasted). Why not have the best of both. I would like to get a recipe for New England Clam Chowder (oh yeah, I like clams too ). Any ideas/recipes will be greatly appreciated and used. Thanks
19. I just tried a tuna melt for the first time. Now I know folks put cheese on their fish all the time but, for the reason I could not wrap my head around putting cheese on my tuna, let alone heating it up. Well it was pretty good. Just wanted to share that. Oh and it didn't hurt that it was 20g of Protein (13 for the tuna & 7 for the cheese).
<img border="0" src="
20. My doctor said that I should get 60 - 80 grams at each day. There have been times I can get that at a meal (usually lunch or dinner). So 81 well........good for you.
21. Fuel food...Tolerable Food...Can it be in a package of Tasty Food? Just asking. If we're going to have to eat it, at least give it some taste that is not tasting the same all the time. A variety is all we are looking for (at least I am) :tongue2:
22. I'm lactose intolerant, but I have tried the mucsle milk (lactose free, no milk) lite, 20-25g of Protein - strawberry, vanilla, choc - and I take them better than any other I have tried. I CAN'T STAND ISOPURE (I even tried putting a couple paks of splenda in it...that didn't work) . It makes me gag...the smell alone is horrible! They didn't tell me that in the seminar. lol Hope this helps you out.
23. Congrats to you SLEEVESTER you will do great. Can't wait to see you post that you're 20lbs liter the day after surgery . Blessings on a speedy recovery.
24. before i started on my WLS journey i weighed 289lbs. when i decided to take the journey i was 277lbs. so i lost 12lbs before i even started you could say. on the liquid diet my doctor wanted me to lose 10lbs before surgery - mission accomplished. with 48lbs lost after surgery- which was june 26 (i am 7 weeks post-op), and 12lbs before the journey. and as of today (8/18/12) i am 229lb.... total of 60lbs lost. hope this helps you.
