Yes To Pasta. No To Pasta
There have been confusing report on whether or not as WLS patients we can or can not have Pasta. My NUT says not for about 6months. Others have said not at all (ever!). It's a bit conflicting. I love pasta - wheat is my fave. I'm so confused Has anyone else had or heard conflicting stories on whether or not we can eat pasta....at some point?

What type of cheese did you use? Was it singles or you sliced it yourself? I prefer cheddar or parm. This I will try.

What Is Everybody Having For Lunch?
Ok, I'm 4 days late but... this was my lunch for Aug. 23 - meatloaf - 3oz -(93/7 lean), mashed potato (1/4 cup), 1/4 cup brocolli. 30 min. later unsweetened green tea (2 splenda paks).

Protein Bars
Carbs, calories, fat.... with all these things to look out for, what should the grams of sugar be? It seems some bars have as much sugar as they do Protein. If the sugar content is as high, if not higher, wouldn't that defeat the protein grams?

Share Your Tummy Tuck Journey..
I will follow this topic closely, I'm 8 weeks post op so this subject is down the road but gathering information now doesn't hurt either.

Sleeping On Your Tummy
It took me a little longer to sleep on my stomach. I'm 8 weeks post-op and I did not sleep on stomach until the 5th week. And I still mostly sleep on my sides. For some reason I'm still not completely comfortable sleeping on my stomach.

Changing Up The Exercise Routine
Sounds like an adventure and a fun one at that. I can't afford a personal trainer but with my doctor's advice and planning I could do some of things you're doing, just in moderation (I'm 8 weeks post op on Sunday (26th) so my doc says not so fast. But I can do cardio as well as my walking and maybe add a bit of weight lifting (2-3lb weights). Much success to you and keep us posted.

In Serious Pain, What Can I Take
You should call your doctor and let her/him know what's going with you. I had pain like that and I thought it was because something happened to my sleeve, but luckily nothing was wrong there. CALL YOUR DOCTOR....PLEASE

Vegetarian, What Is It? And Who?
Well from what I am reading so far, I'm the 'Flexitarian'. I have not eaten red meat in such a while that I am afraid that if I did now, I would be sick. I really don't miss it. I go by McDonald's on my way to work each morning and would actually like to get a fish sandwich or a fruit/yogurt cup. I'll stay in the 'Flexitarian'. Thank you all for your comments, much appreciated

Vegetarian, What Is It? And Who?
Hello fellow Sleevers. Gotta question. I have been noticing - here on VST and personally that when people talk about being vegetarian most (and in my family too) talk about NOT eating meats. But some say they eat fish/chicken/turkey/seafood. Most, that I talked to, do not consider these things meats. Can a vegetarian explain just what makes a vegetarian? And what considered meat (other than the obvious) not considered meat? I am eating veggie burgers (Morning Star Famrs products), chicken thighs, turkey (roasted, grilled, slice (lean)), as well as eggs and soy/egg based Protein shakes (those I can tolerate). This I have been doing since May (was sleeved on June 26, 2012). Thanks.

Well I Made It On The Loser's Bench!
Congrats of becoming a Sleever . It was hard for me to get comfortable especially on my left side - that the side my doctor said he removed my stomach from one of the incisions. It will get better. As for the water, just continue to sip sip sip sip as much as you can, no need to force it. Those SF popsicles are great, I keep at least 2 boxes of them in the freezer.

I'm Not Hungry, I Don't Want To Eat
Thank you. That is something to think about and work on. I get in the water...do a lot of walking (can't afford the price of a gym - yet), and as for the protein.... working on it.

Not Being Hungry
I am having the same issue. I was eating and all-of-a-sudden I just did not want to. And I know I have to get my protein in. Right now, it is not an easy task. I do wait at least 30min before eating and try to wait 30min after but today I just did not want to eat.

I'm Not Hungry, I Don't Want To Eat
I am feeling something and can't quite put my finger on it. As I sit here eating my veggie burger I all-of-a-sudden did not feel like eating (it is still on my plate), I just wanted to stop ... and I know I am suppose to get in at least 60 grams of Protein and I am barely half way there. What's going on? Morning Star Farms is a fave of mine not to mention it is NOT CHEAP. Any thoughts? Anyone else gone/going thru this?

Exercise!
I'll be 8 weeks on Sunday and my doctor cleared me to exercise (in moderation of course) for the first month or so. So take it ez and let yourself heal the for the first month or 2. You'll get there. I walked the first month or so and will be in the gym within the next 2-3 weeks.

Bummed At People's Reactions
This is why I am so glad I found this site. I tried to talk, text, email family members who chose not to respond or give encourgement/support. Each time I did the communicating thing I get no communication back so I STOP! When I got Sleeved, I had 3 people in my corner and I felt great...no negativity, no judgemental crap, just support, encourgement and blessings. Do for you, no one else because you have to be the first one to look in the mirror and see you. Do you. I have a great support system here at VST and from those close enough to me to know whats what. Those who want to know should've been when first invited. I had a love affair with food that I ended on June 26, 2012 and I do not regret it. On that day, I told food -- YOU WILL NOT DEFEAT ME!!! Starting weight: 289 Surgery weight: 267 Goal weight: 161 Weight as of today (8.23.12) 228 I would say I am winning this battle, not food. GO FORWARD.

Sleep Apnea ?
I have sleep apnea and when I had my VSG back in June they asked me to bring my cpap machine with to the hospital. Since it was already calibrated if it was needed (and it was not, thank God) they didn't have to figure it out. I had no worries because I had confidence in my dr. and his staff. God is with you, you will be fine. Since the surgery I have not had to wear the mask that much and I go for a sleep study to determine whether I need to keep it (wear it) or not... I going for 'or not'

Vitamin Help!
I take bluebonnet liquid calcium (it looks like butter milk, just doesn't taste like it) with vit D, and a liquid multi-vit from Vitamin Shoppe. I can take the chewable multi but prefer the liquid. The calcium is mixed berry and the multi vit is orange. Hope this helps you out.
