  1. This was my problem as well. Especially trying to find something that would give me the Protein I needed with the taste I wanted (and desired). So much of the foods are exellent sources of protein but are lacking in the taste department. Here are some resources I found - and I found them right here from VST members. Check them out. Footnote... You will have to pic-n-choose because the recipes can be for different stages and it will depend on what stage you're in. Enjoy! http://gastricsleeve4me.blogspot.com/ http://bariatricfood...te-recipes.html http://theworldaccor...e.blogspot.com/ http://www.emilybite...cipe-index.html
  2. And here I thought Red Bull (sugar free) was caffeine free too. I love (loved) Red Bull
  3. I went thru that anxiety myself in June. One side was "Am I doing the right thing"? The other side was "will the scalple slip from him hand"? I know I was doing the right thing, I tried every diet there is and nothing worked, so that wasn't it...They don't use scalples anymore (unless they ABSOLUTELY have to), not to mention I had complete confidence in my surgeon, and still do, so that wasn't it either. I was nersous, its to be expected - It is major surgery after all. And since this was my first in surgery in 16 yrs, yes I nervous as hell. After awhile I calmed down and was looking forward to what the future will hold for me. And with the Good Lord Above, the future looks brite. You will be alright. Stay focus.

Mixed dring as in with alcohol? You can tolerate alcohol ! I wish I could but my NUT & Doc said that is a no no for at least a year... A YEAR ! I'd love a Cosmo bout now.
  5. So what is your liquid intake?
  6. Sept 2: Meal change..had 4oz of chicken thigh (boiled in seasonings & not salt was added). Could only eat half. Topped it with parm cheese & 2 slices of dill pickles - very good. Water: a gallon - almost - I think I left 2 cups in the jug Vites: done Sept 3: Water: so far 32 oz (2 16 oz bottles). Iced T: probably with lunch & dinner (at least 3 cups...before bed). B - 2 oz chicken thigh (from last night) on 1/2 a sandwich thin (wheat), with lite/ff mayo & 1 oz parm cheese. Very tasty the next day too S - s/f Jello (1/4 cup) L - Protein bar and 2 oz of tuna on wheat toast D - 2 boiled eggs with a slice of wheat toast + iced T How is everyone doing with your daily meals? I sometimes don't know what I might eat from day to day, but I do find that it makes things easier when you do plan out your daily meals (it aint easy but I'm working on it ).
  7. I think someone mentioned 'twoderville'. I like it, I just want out of it
  8. OUTSTANDING!!!! FABULOUS!!! WONDERFUL!!! SIMPLY SPECTACULAR!! oh yeah, congradulations.
  9. BigCraig also on here, has said his starting weight at surgery was about 600lbs (surgery was in May I believe). He has lost about 200lbs and doing great. You might want to look him up and read his progress as well. There are so many inspirational stories here that you and your sister-in-law will truly inspired by them. Good luck to you both.
  10. That's FABULOUS!! keep up the wonderful work.
  11. Don't think you're alone in this because you're not. You have the VST community behind you. You get support, encouragement, helpful advice. We are here for each other and I find that so wonderful because sometimes we can feel like we are in this by ourselves. I know I did..at least until I came upon this web-site. Here, WE ARE NEVER ALONE Keep up the great work. You can do it.
  12. I was told NOT to drink anything at least 15 - 30 minuets before AND after meals. We have to get in Protein and if we are full on liquid that would make it impossible to do. I don't think drinking liquids is the answer.
  13. WOW!! You ate 8oz's of tuna...the whole thing . Straight? As a salad? I do not believe being Sleeved is a wait of time but I think you should give yourself time. I agree with Nate maybe a scale is what is needed here. Weigh each item, eat slowly and CHEW, CHEW, CHEW before swallowing. That may help you feel fuller... longer. Give it time. You could be rushing results way too soon.
  14. I did have a 'last supper'. I had a double quarter lb'der, fries & a sugar free iced tea (the nerve ). Had 1 patty for lunch w/ the fries & the other for dinner later that night. The night b4 surgery I had a fish sandwich (burger king). No regrets.
  15. I'm not sure about this one either. I love grapes. I REALLY love grapes. And I got the same thing from NUT. My doctor said I could but only 5 or 6 IN A WEEK NOOOOO. That would make me mad! I could only eat 5/6 grapes in a week..call the wagon. I guess to eat raisins is eating grapes in its natual sugar form and that can be a lot of sugar. Grapes do have natual sugars and maybe that's why (heck, that's the best I could think of)
  16. Good morning! My total Protein intake for Sept. 1 was 75 grams Today's menu: Total Protein intake: 66 grams B - 2 oz sliced turkey (roasted) 12g Sandwich thins (1) 4g S - S/F Jello .. it actually has 2 g of protein (I'll take it!) L - 3/4 c turkey chili (I might be able to finish it this time) 10g S - Protein Bar - 19g D - Probably a veggie burger (Morning Star Farms Grillers) 17g Sandwich thins (1/2) 2g Bedtime - Protein bar (maybe) Vites - done Water- so far 32 oz (I love water!!) Iced Tea is on the drink menu too.
  17. I had not heard of at least 2 of them until I joined VST. Thanks for the post, now I can have taste AND protein .. WOOHOO
  18. Thank you much. I'll check it out
  19. Been meaning to ask that same question ... what is a cheeseburger cupcake? Is it like the name says - cheeseburger in a cupcake pan baked?
  20. Doing great on the water, keep up the good work. I have yet to have a turkey burger...it's been awhile since I've had one. Might have to do one before the weekend is over. What are chia seeds? I like the chia tea, do the seeds taste the same?
  21. Thank you. Water was is one thing I just do not get tired of drinking. My turkey chili came from Gastricsleeve4me right here on VST and it was GREAT!
  22. I am making your turkey chili and just wanted to know how much garlic do you start with? I put a tbsp to start. Also, how to cook the chili in a pot (I do not have a crockpot)? Thanks
  23. Just started making turkey chili (for the first time too). dinner will be 1 cup turkey chili and 9 small (it takes that many to make 1oz plus it has 3g of Protein too ) pita chips - F/F & L/S Water: already had 4/16oz bottles and I'm not done yet probably 3 more before I turn in tonight.
  24. August is gone...September has just arrived. For everyone who has been Sleeved and those who will be Sleeved, why not share what we have on a daily basis - are you game? B - egg whites (2tbs), cheddar cheese (1/2 oz), wheat toast L - Turkey slices (2 oz), cheddar cheese, low-fat pita chips (1 oz) D - ? for now Just started making turkey chili (for the first time too). dinner will be: 1 cup turkey chili and 9 small (it takes that many to make 1oz plus it has 3g of Protein too ) pita chips - F/F & L/S Water: already had 4/16oz bottles and I'm not done yet probably 3 more before I turn in tonight.
  25. Forgot to mention... I tried grapes (green ones) too but could only eat 4 or 5 (chewing, chewing, chewing) at one time.
