  1. Jenn, so glad to hear that you are doing good tonight That is awesome!!
  2. Do you take an acid b;ocker daily? My Dr. recommends them twice a day for at least 3 months. He says they help to control hunger pangs! I am taking mine.
  3. Check out Dr. Alvarez at Endobariatrics.com. He sleeved me and he is awesome.
  4. If you ever have any questions, feel free to contact me. It was a truly great experience. No joke, I still cannot believe it was so great!!
  5. Welcome, Raulena, It is great to have you here. I am only 5 days out from surgery and I love the fact that I can find so much info here for sleeve surgery. The sleeve is a bit differently than other WLS, so it is great to find a group of sleevers to communicate with. All of going through the same things and helping each other along the journey.
  6. I am home now and healing. I have been so happy with this surgery. NO PAIN at all, NO nausea at all. I do not know what Dr, A does but he truly makes this very painless. Others have said the same thing, not just me. When you wake up and have to ask if you had surgery, that is amazing. I am tender at my incisions but not sore. I am 5 days out now, sleeping well and moving around without pain. The hardest part is getting out of bed alone (my hubby leaves for work usually before I am awake). I have figured out how to do it now without pain. He sends home pain meds for us for a few days. I am taking them but I do not feel like I need them. The worst part of the surgery for me was the oral antibiotic you have to take for three days. Goodness, that was nasty tasting. So glad to be done with that If you choose to go to Dr. A. (I personally would choose no one else), you will not be sorry. His assistants are wonderful and he truly cares about his patients. I recommend him highly!
  7. I saw the Unflavored Syntrax at Vitamin Shoppe in the KC area. Have never tried it. I have a tub of the Unjury sitting on my counter but I have not tried it yet.
  8. I finally opened my chicken Unjury yesterday, had put it off after reading all these postings. I did not think it smelled bad and I mixed it first with 1/4 cup cold water then added hot water and it was not lumpy at all. I really enjoyed the flavor and the warmth. Just shows that everyone has different tastes and we have to try things out for ourselves to see what we like and what we don't. I still have not braved the Isopure test, maybe today!
  9. I had surgery on Thursday , had to fly home from Texas yesterday and had a headache all day long. I also ran a very slight higher body temp last night. Today is MUCH better, no headache, no temperature. Just try to drink something. My new tummy does not prefer water, try green tea. That is going down very easy for me today. Get the pre bottled kind with sugar. My Dr. says regular (not SF) drinks and jello for the first week, our bodies need it. I hope that you feel better really quickly. I just can't imagine vomiting. I had the hiccups and that was really painful !!
  10. I was sleeved on Thursday and just now really starting to work on liquids. I tried a clear protein drink that comes in a tube like Crystal light but it is not good. I added more water and half a tube of Crystal Light and it is in the fridge getting super cold. I had a small pre-made jello at lunchtime, been sipping cold green tea all day, Just now I had a Popsicle. I have been going to the bathroom a lot so I feel like I am doing OK. I do not see how I will get in 64 oz. today, but I am working on it.
  11. So hoping that you are doing much better and able to come home very soon. You have been through so much. God bless you!!
  12. Just wanted to check in and see how you are doing now. Hoping that you are doing much better now.
  13. Susie, How are you feeling now? I hope you are well and that you are able to eat and drink enough now. Have a good week!
  14. Sounds as though you have it figured out my hubby and I ate @ the Chinese Chop Chop place. Soup was very good. The pool is a nice place to sit in the evening. Sit by the steps and put your feet in and cool off. Nice and relaxing! Hugs to you ! You are going to do do well!!
  15. Those hiccups hurt, too ;( I had some last night.
  16. Hope you find something to occupy you on Eagle Pass don't stress too much, DR. A will be really good to you ! I am praying for you , Jenn! Think only positive thoughts!
  17. My Dr gave me Zantac(?), I have to take it 2 times per day for several months. He says it is a MUST.
  18. I am only 2 days out but plain water makes me feel yucky. Juice or even ice chips go down better for me.
  19. I just got my sleeve on Thursday 8/02 with Dr. Alvarez. I cannot say enough good about this man or his staff. I have been very well cared for here and I have been in very little pain. When I woke up, I had to ask my hubby if they did my surgery, there was No pain. I got ice chips this morning and they took my pain meds off so there is some gas pain and very slight incision pain ( the one they take the tummy out of is most painful). I have been walking and at 5 PM they started us on Water. I have a lot of new tummy gurgles!! No nausea at all, praying that I don't get any either! Dr. Alvarez is a wonderful surgeon, he makes you feel so at ease. He was definitely the most perfect surgeon for me. His hospital is an older facility but very clean and they make you feel at home. His assistant, Jessica is wonderful, as well as his assistants. My experience has been wonderful!
  20. The statement is true.....NEVER trust a fart. Just don't !!
  21. At the airport in KC...I am really on my way. This is real!!!!! Made it through with my protein shakes but I had to get a full body pat down !
  22. Susie, soup was so good! I chose the French onion, every thing else was cream based or had noodles. It had the least calories too. Boy, was I hungry!! I have a protein shake for tonight and one for tomorrow , if they will allow me to take it on the plane. Storm, it has certainly come quickly for me. The last week has been extra busy and I just didn't realize my time was here so quickly. I will post tomorrow after we get to eagle pass! Going to try to get some sleep, the wake up call is for 3:30 AM!
  23. Located a Panera! soup is being served.
  24. We are at the hotel now and trying to figure out where I can get some soup for dinner. That is tough ! Not much to eat out that is clear liquids. We have called around and places have broccoli cheese soup and a bean soup but nothing else. Crazy ! I may not get dinner tonight. ;(
  25. Heading to the airport hotel tonight so we only have to be awake by 4am for our flight out of KC. Doing good, a bit nervous now!!
