  2. Yea Paula, that hunger part is a big bummer, but then again so are the pb's, which I call sliming, lol. My weakness is chili, I'm so over chili, but it has never made me pb or the least bit uncomfortable, my true soul food.
  3. It aggrivates the heck out of me when I say I've had weight loss surgery and the first thing anyone says is, "Oh, I know somebody that had that done, OMG, they had all these problems or they lost tons of weight so fast". Then I say, Oh no you don't know someone that's had this done, I was the first in the area to have this done and this is NOT what your friend had done, I didn't have anything rearranged or cut off.

Prior to banding, Diet Coke ran through my veins. I had pretty much stopped drinking them months prior to being banded, they started tasting like pure syrup to me. Now that I know I'm not suppose to have it, I do have the yearn for one now and then.
  5. Penni this is a crazy question, but even though you can't eat anymore are you hungry? My problem is I wait too long between meals and then shove something in my mouth and THINK I've chewed enough then swallow and it doesn't settle right, then there goes the meal...may I have a to go box please. Problem is I'm still hungry, but I'm so aggrivated I can't eat the hunger passes. I'm due for another fill next week and as long as I eat slower and chew more I can eat a bunch. You'd think I'd know better by now, it's been almost 3 months.

That sucks, I've been getting the fraudulent email messages about my paypal wanting me to confirm info. Beware
  7. If any of you live near a costco, ya gotta try the Talipia. It is so easy. They were doing a demo with it the other day. Spray a frying pan, then a little butter, salt and pepper and omg, yummmmm. Less time to cook the fish than to clean up, although if you use the right pan, clean up is a breeze too. I froze mine individually so I could just pop them in the pan. I do put in Water, (while still in the ziploc bag) for a few minutes to thaw.
  8. Angela, how'd you lose so much so fast you're 10 lbs ahead of me, and I was 12/6. I'm jealous!
  9. That's one mother nature I don't miss at all, getting old isn't all bad, LOL.
  10. I'm in VA on the skirts of NC
  11. Actually, you'll become rather proud of some of them, (the noises that is).
  12. Congratulations Betty on your promotion. Everyone really does do a great job.
  13. I've only thrown up a few of times since the band and it was always due to drinking with my meal or too soon after.. And it's not really like I threw up, it's more like the Water came back because it wouldn't pass through the stomach because of the food in there, at least that's what the doctor explained today. Like I said it definately got my attention and I will NOT drink water or anything immediately behind eating. Right after I was banded I use to sneak little sips with my mushy foods, just as a habit, BUT, since I've had a fill, there is no sneaking. Since I didn't do it often, I didn't realize the impact, but I do now and I will probably wait longer as well. It's kind of aggrivating, I keep a bottle of water on my desk and that has been foremost on my mind, "lots of fluids". I'm still relatively new at this and just because I THOUGHT I knew it all already, welllllll..... no I know NOT! Thanks for listening and caring.
  14. My doctor just called me back and said it was probably a tiny blood vessel, that the esophagus was very sensitive and easily scratched. He said it would be like skinning your knuckle. He said I was the first bander he had heard of having this sensitive of an esophagus, he sees it more often with a bypass patient. I also explained to him when I throw up, even though this was not from down deep, but my chest, that I use force, I once got a black eye from throwing up, (years ago before being banded, the night before leaving on vacation, had to go the entire time with a black eye, my poor DH, everyone looked at him like he'd done it). Whewww, best believe I'll be waiting the full 30 minutes after eating to drink from now on. Thanks again everyone.
  15. Ok, I called his office back and had him paged to call me back. I will post as soon as I hear from him. Thanks for all the concern.
  16. I was nervous the week before, but very calm the morning of the surgery. You'll breeze right through it.
  17. Where was the ulcer, it didn't feel like it came from my stomach, because the water felt like it got stuck at the top of my band. I've convinced myself it was probably a blood vessel because it was rather forceful if that makes sense. Since it happened a couple of weeks ago I have paid close attention to be sure there was no sign of dried or old blood. I really think it was a blood vessel, ok there, I've diagnosed myself.
  18. After eating some dry Cereal today, I forgot and took a big big swallow of Water, after the pain stopped, I spit back the water and it had bright red blood with it. I called my doctors office and left a vague, "please have him call me" message. The other time it happened I had some coleslaw that I thought went down the wrong way and I had a swallow of water that time too, that was a couple of weeks ago. I've also paid attention and when I get the slime it's after I finished my last bitefull and then drank something. I did notice a funny feeling in my chest, like a little tightness after I spit back the bright red blood. Anyone else ever had this happen?
  19. My grandson loved it!

Valentines Thoughts These are entries to a Washington Post competition asking for a rhyme with the most romantic first line but the least romantic second line. Love may be beautiful, love may be bliss But I slept with you because I was pissed. I thought that I could love no other Until, that is, I met your brother. Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you. But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head. Kind, intelligent, loving, and hot. This describes everything you're not. I want to feel your sweet embrace But don't take that bag from off your face. I love your smile, your face, your eyes. Damn, I'm good at telling lies! My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife, Marrying you screwed up my life. I see your face when I am dreaming. That's why I always wake up screaming. My love , you take my breath away. What have you stepped in to smell this way? What inspired this amorous rhyme? Two parts vodka, one part lime.
  21. That's it Michelle, I'm going to the gym, at least to look, lol. Finally broke the -25 mold, down 25.5, whoopeeee. (If I exercised I bet it would be more than that)
  22. Everyone looks G-r-e-a-t! I'm so happy for each and everyone of you. Keep up the good work.
  23. Getting use to chewing, I mean really chewing is so difficult to do. We have gulped our food for so many years and now we're eating much slower and you MUST chew. Speaking from personal experience, after two months of being banded, I will still swallow before chewing enough, and boy do I immediately know it....golf ball syndrom I call it.
  24. You are a wonderful person to have gone through a 4 hour surgery, and yet you are more concerned about your surgeon being worn out. Good luck with your new band.
  25. Welcome to bandland. Hope all goes well for you. Happy loosing!
