  1. Nothing yesterday, I'm supposed to meet with trainer this afternoon, we'll see how that pans out. And I have to figure out when to do workout 3 of c25k, tonight or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow...
  2. thanks losing, I slowed it down a lot last night, don't know exactly how much I was running outside, but the pains are less today than they were tues and yesterday...
  3. Welcome Jaslady! Thought I would be so much more sore today than I actually am, just slightly sore in my knees and hips again, but a good sore! Can't wait for Saturday! Oh yeah, I think I mentioned it 10 times already, but I'm repeating week 1 at least once.:nervous
  4. Daddy, you got there and thats all that counts! And just doing the c25k program is a lot, but laps for 25 minutes too?????? Just crazy..... I was going to take tonight off because I worked out yesterday, but I feel like I have so much built up energy that I need to get rid of...maybe spin class with the beast. I'll keep ya posted.
  5. Ok whos, I got ya on c25k thread, and I'm getting you here...THANKS. I reread my whiny post from earlier, and then I read your post on the c25k thread, and I decided it would probably be best to get off my big (but slowly shrinking) a$$ and get moving. Workout 2, Week 1 couch to 5k program. 35 minutes, I was 5 minutes away from my house when I finished, and I couldn't call a cab so I had to walk home! When I got home I did about 20 minutes of stretching and it felt sooooo gooooood!
  6. Hey Ariel...thanks. I do have 2 good pairs of running shoes, 1 pair is about 6 months old, but I rarely used them up until a couple months ago, so I'm thinking that maybe after christmas I'll have to invest in another pair of running sneaks. I have another pair that I use more often, mostly for spin which has kind of ruined the soles so I'd rather not use them to run, especially outdoors. I actually went running today, even though I said I was in too much pain (soreness) to run again. It was actually whosyadaddy who motivated me. He said I was encouraging him, but I read my post over again later on and I thought, I may as well just go for a walk with the doggy, loosen everything up. I felt like a whiner saying that I was too sore to work out, especially since I took about a week off this month already! Last minute I changed to leaving doggy home, and just doing workout 2 of my couch to 5k. I figured, I'll have the ipod on me, and if its too difficult, and I'm too sore, then I'll stop and have a nice walk. Well, I actually did it. Well, I had to skip two 60 second runs because the area I live in is quite hilly and I was uphill most of the way (going downhill felt really good though) and I'm not the most fit, but I feel good now. I actually did it. And I'm sure I'll be in pain tomorrow! I know I'm going to have to do week 1 for at least 2 weeks, if not three, but I love the feeling when I'm done with it. And I noticed yesterday, after only 1 run (walking with a tiny bit of slow jogging) I had so much more wind in spin class. I was totally not as gasping for air as I usually am. Ok, so if I ever whine again, remind me to read this thread, and talk to whosyadaddy!!!!!! Thanks!
  7. Hey whos, thats actually a really good idea!
  8. I'm postponing workout #2 till tomorrow because my hips are KILLING me today...super sore!
  9. Whos, that is so awesome! I'm so excited. I was going to do workout 2 tonight, but my hips are really sore. Too sore. I think I'm going to do it tomorrow instead. And I'm definately going to repeat week 1 at least once.
  10. Spin class last night, 60 minutes. I'm sore today and I have to do week 1 workout 2 of couch to 5k tonight. Ouchie!
  11. Yea, but they're good!
  12. Thats Fantastic! And I thought you could only do 2 minutes!!!!!!!:whoo:
  13. Whos, you could definately do it, its not as bad as I originally thought it would be! Come join us Couch to 5K - Week of 14 – 20 October I will for sure be repeating week 1, and probably every other week as well. It only really takes about 30 minutes and they say to do it every other day. When I got off the treadmill last night I was dripping with sweat, similar to spinning...Great workout. And I am for sure not running fast, 4.2mph was my average and I think I'm going to stick to that for a while.
  14. losing, it doesn't matter whether you are motivated or not, you showed up! That's what counts the most. Can't wait for tomorrow, and I can't believe I'm saying that!
  15. Yeah, actually I'm so not as sore as I thought I'd be! I was scared last night while I was lying in bed, my feet were hurting, my legs were hurting, I guess a good hurt, but I thought I'd be in trouble today. Tonight I have an hour with the trainer and an hour spin class, ugh!
  16. momlambert, noticed your ticker has moved...congrats!!!
  17. FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! couch to 5k, workout 1, week 1 200 crunches, 50 pushups Hey angelnurse, just noticed the lower body lift scheduled for 12/20, early christmas present???
  18. KarenG-go for it! Losing, I just got back from the gym....and I did my first workout. Let me preface this by saying that I really wanted to do it outdoors, and the weather here is perfect, so we drove to 3 different tracks-all with no lighting, and I couldn't see a damn thing. Then I realized that the ipod was dead....so pissed. I ended up coming home for a half an hour, charged up the battery and persevered onto the gym for my last attempt at my first couch to 5k workout. The gym was packed, I hate that, and there were a bunch of jokes there acting like it was some kind of pick up joint, but I ignored it this time. I kept thinking of you and how I really wanted to start this program, and how I hadn't exercised since last tuesday (bad couple of weeks). I jumped on the treadmill and started slow with the podcast blaring in my ears. The music was awesome, made me really want to keep going. Unfortunately I skipped 2 of the runs, but during the "runs" I jacked up the incline to 5.5. My fasted speed was 4.7mph, but that was only once, and not for the whole 60 seconds. I'm sorta proud of myself, I never for once thought I'd be at the gym, packed to the gills, running on a treadmill. Like a normal person. I can't wait for wednesday....if I'm not too sore!
  19. well, I've only run once before, and I totally didn't run for 60 seconds then walk for 90, then be able to run again for 60. You are so awesome. I'm going to the track tonight, so we'll see what happens!!!
  20. I would also think that the elliptical would be a safe bet, but anything like dance aerobics or kickboxing I'd put on hold for at least a month. But again, check with the doc!
  21. Losing, your time is awesome! How long before starting this program were you running for? I'm gonna go to a local track tonight and give day 1 a go, but I am so nervous!!!!!
  22. Hey Marchies....This thread has been so quiet lately. Busy time of year? I haven't been working out at all lately, had the flu for a week and a half and I could not work out like that. Back tonight for the start of the couch to 5k program. And my trainer is back from her 2 week vacation, so I get to see her tomorrow. She's so going to give me 30 lashes for not keeping up! My food habits have also been atrocious. I have a hard time with real food, most of the time, so I end up eating junk, which seems to go down really well....I know I have to quit it, but its so much easier to eat... Have a good one guys!
  23. It varies on intensity, distance, how much you weigh, etc. The more you weigh, the more calories your burning...
  24. Hey guys, have been really bad lately....Nothing since last tuesday. But it looks like I'm starting the couch to 5k program tonight. I'll report back with how that goes...
  25. hey guys, are you doing this outside or on treadmills?
