  1. Down you go...looking good! Yay for sure!!!
  2. Wow, you better wear a name tag wherever you go! Good work!!!!
  3. Your body does things in order. It is unfathomably complex and many departments have to do their thing before the scale moves. Sometimes a sluggard in one department fails to read the memo about hurrying from the brain and takes a nap. Eventually the calorie deficit comes in and kicks his butt into action. It is impossible to eat what you are eating and hold on to your fat stores unless you have been diagnosed with some rare condition.
  4. Ya, you get the sleeve, the weight slides off, and in 6 months you look like Justin Timberlake or Katie Perry. Not in the real world. But people in pain want the pain to stop.....now. If you have ever had a gall bladder attack you know what I mean. Time stands still. Obesity is a world of pain. If you've ever been in prison and had 3 days left....longest days in your life. You have great hope of something wonderful ahead and you're like a kid saying,"Are we there yet?" Stalls are frustrating, I understand the thousands of threads that get posted concerning them. They never bothered me but I am not like normal people, at least my wife says so.
  5. Nurses in recovery were my target. "Breathe, Gary, Breathe!" one of them said. "Ok", says I, "but tell me..was it a boy or a girl?" No laugh,...tough room.
  6. I am out nearly a year and 8 months. My fat ghost is fading. He doesn't haunt me much and when he does he is easily dismissed. Casper be gone!!!
  7. I had to move my wedding ring to a different finger and it is still loose.
  8. I have been at goal for months and still forget sometimes that I am not fat anymore. I watched a Lipozene commercial and thought about getting some and then had to remind myself that I didn't need it. I am trying to think of myself as having returned to the skinny kid I was in my teens before food caught up with me.
  9. Wish they could put the bloody thing in reverse and suck the gas out when they're done! Like a medical Foodsaver.
  10. Granddaughters had to push grampa around the theme park in a wheelchair and he was too fat to fit in rides. Now we can run to rides and ride until we puke.
  11. $1,000.. The insurance company tried to get out of paying for my anesthesia. It took months to resolve it. Silly me thought when you are approved for an operation it includes the anesthetic. Maybe it's my blasted reputation for being a tough guy..didn't think I needed it I guess.
  12. Those are tough. Good work!
  13. Same with me.....well not all of them...
  14. Medial jargon bypass...I like your doc! Congratulations!
  15. Pure crappola....I work in the hot Florida sun all day and sweat constantly for hours. I drink six to seven small bottles of Water but don't feel like I can't drink enough. If I didn't get enough I would faint of heat stroke, trust me. I sip a tiny bit with some dry stuff but not with moisture laden foods. If you chew slowly swallowing food is not a problem. Where did your NUT get her credentials...Marquis De Sade University? Protein shakes are important at first because of the high density of protein and ease of getting in. Later on when you are on solid foods they are much less a factor. I only use them now as an after workout drink. I also didn't dig ultra-sweetness. I got unflavored Protein Powder and mixed Peanut Butter in it. There are flavorless protein formulas that mix in drinks that are hardly noticed.
  16. Bada Bing...Bada Boom.... ..HBP...outa here !
  17. I got a wild hair and decided to make a white russian: vodka, cream, coffee liqueur. I only had coffee not the liqueur. It was ok tasting, did not give me much of a buzz, burned my tummy, and filled me up almost immediately. No getting drunk here. I was nauseous for two days. The vodka is destined to be used as cleaning Fluid. First time I imbibed since sleeving.....and the last.
  18. Talking to clothes?... I did the same thing at Macy's talking to the rack of suits that were all too small. "I shall return and you will be mine!" The suits gave me the silent treatment as if my absurd prediction wasn't worthy of response. Imagine their consternation when I returned and bypassed the suits that I was previously addressing and went down the rack to their smaller versions. Revenge on clothing...they used to make us feel bad....we're whipping their hinnies...
  19. The clock is ticking slower..sounds like a longer life is ahead of you.
  20. Welcome! As you will notice in my signature, my starting weight was 340 as well. 210 now.
  21. Ya, if you tried on a shirt and it smelled like Brut, cigarette smoke, and nervous sweat you wouldn't buy it unless there is a sleazy bar scene that you are trying to fit into.
  22. From this man's viewpoint, the guy is a leech and a lazy bum. Find someone who has a sense of honor.
  23. Cassie laid it out quite clearly. I know you wanted to hear from recent sleevers of which I am not but when I considered your statement, "this is such a massive life changing decision" I asked myself, "What has changed in my life?" Outside of all the positives: health improvements, energy increases, ease of buying clothes, etc., and the negative: occasional heartburn, the only real change that has occured is that I eat less. My stomach talks back to me now whereas before it just put up with whatever I shoved down there and complained later. The social changes are insignificant to me. My friends understand or they are not my friends and no problem. I have lost no one through this, apparently my friends and relatives really loved me.
  24. Macaroni salad. When I eat too much I can no longer leap tall buildings or see through walls, crime goes on unchecked and the world suffers.
