  1. When do u not have to worry getting a leak anymore? How long until your stomach is healed completely?
  2. I don't have my surgery until july 20th but I have read on here that in the beginning you have to worry more about being hydrated than getting your protein in. But that's an idea, I love G2. Especially the grape. High sodium though. I hear the protein drinks are awful and cause diarrhea. We shall see....
  3. Omg. U have the very same stats as me. I will be 31 next month, I'm 5'7" and weigh 252. I don't know if I can get down to 154 and look good though cause I'm kinda a "big boned" girl. Anyways my surgery is july 20th. Lots of luck to u and I will watching 4 ya.
  4. Congratulations JNEE! Hope my surgery is as smooth as yours. Keep us posted.
  5. My friends are all pretty excited for me and can't wait to see how everything turns out. On the other hand my husbands family wouldn't take it too well.....if they knew!
  6. My surgery is july 20th with Dr Barker in dallas too. I feel the same way you do. I have a loving husband and an awesome 3 yr old boy. There are times that I'm like what the heck am I doing! But then I think about my health and what's to come 10yrs down the road if I don't do this. HBP runs on my moms side and diabetes runs on my dads side. I know by getting my sleeve I am avoiding both of these. Plus I will be a better wife and mom to my boys and that's what makes it so worth it. I just started posting on here a few weeks ago and it has helped me tremendously! Apparently we all have the same fears and hopes and then doubts, then excitement and all the other emotions that go along with this journey. I'm sooo glad I have this site to rely on when I get the "what ifs". Good luck to u. Keep us posted.
  7. Thanks so much. I pray I can be as successful in my weight loss journey as u have been.
  8. Girl I know what u mean. He is a hottie! Did u have ur surgery at forest park medical center? So u had no complications??? My surgery is july 20th. How many days did they keep u? I have a feeling they will be pushing me out the door cause I'm self pay. That's one thing I'm worried about. The longer I'm in there the better I think.
  9. Where do u buy the Unjury???
  10. Have u had ur EGD done yet? I did this last Saturday. If so did u have it at forest park med center? What did u think about that place??? I am soooo nervous. I know I'm askin a lot of questions but I'm excited about finding someone that's using the same surgeon.
  11. LMAO! I'm glad I'm sending my hubby on a fishin trip for a week! My parents are going with me. My husband is one of those guys that think ladies don't fart!
  12. That really worries me cause I'm scheduled to come back to work exactly a week after surgery. I'm a hair dresser so I stand a lot at work. No lifting. But if I'm running on water only then I'm gonna have no energy. Hope u get better soon.
  13. I was just wondering what kind of pre surgery testing ur doc had u do. Mine is having me do an EGD and a sleep apnea test and a stress test. What did y'all have to do? My cousin is having the same surgery but different doc and she doesn't have to do the sleep study. Just curious.
  14. Why do some docs give u drain tubes and some not???
  15. Ok thanks so much! I definately won't waste the $$. I will just get some oil and good lotion and hope for the best.
  16. Has anyone tried putting amy meds on the scars left behind? Something like mederma?
  17. I haven't been sleeved yet but I have read that stomach acid can cause false hunger pains. Try taking an antacid and see if that helps. My surgery is july 20th and I'm so affraid that my hunger will still be there.
  18. My surgery is on july 20th. I was all anxious until I got my date (crazy I know). Now I find myself up at night worrying about the "what if's". I go into my 3 yr olds room at night and just hold him while he's sleeping. Is that crazy??? Anyways just saw that u were a day ahead of me and wondered what feelings u are having...
  19. U guys in the DFW area every heard of Dr Wade Barker??? I'm scheduled for surgery with him in July. Just lookin 4 every bit of info I can get. Thanks!
  20. Ok I'm a newbie and I just got my date on Thursday. Its july 20th. I have been researching this since January and I'm positive this is the solution 4 me! I have some questions that maybe y'all can help me with. Ok if I want to know more about my surgeon, like how many sleeves he's done and how many leaks or major complications he's had, can I just call his office and ask these questions? I really want to know these things. Will they be truthful? Also how long does this surgery take? I'm using Dr Wade Barker in dallas texas if anybody know of him. Would reeeally appreciate some input.
