  1. Wow!! Glad everything worked out!! and yes it was a blessing in disguise!! Prayers for a speedy recovery!!
  2. I know that when I had my surgery (5/3/11) I definatley felt that they were in my stomach working, kinda a weird feeling, but you can definatley tell they were working in there, so maybe that is what your feeling. As far as the numbness, I can't relate because I only had one incision and its in my belly button. Hope this helps, if not I wouldn't hesitate to call the doctor, I called my surgeons anytime I had a question, I told them I felt like a new mother with a newborn..LOL
  3. I never had a drain! I had no leaks or complication whatsoever, its weird how so many surgeons are different, but I'm happy with my surgeons, they did my entire surgery through my belly button, which is completely amazing to me and if some day I wanna wear that bikini I can and you'll never even know I had surgery!!
  4. I am 4 weeks postop as well!! I'm going to the doctors today and will be placed back on solids!! I'm so excited!! This is the best thing I could have ever done!! Congrats on the new you and the new Job!!
  5. Where in Ct are you having your surgery? I'm in CT too, I had my surgery on May 3.
  6. You look amazing!! You go Girl!!!
  7. WOW!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT HAS ALREADY BEEN A MONTH (WELL 4 WEEKS TODAY)!! I FEEL GREAT AND I'M DOWN A TOTAL OF 32 POUNDS!! NO REGRETS..LOVING MY SLEEVE!!!
  8. Yay!! Congrats!! Sounds like you are doing terrific!! I ws lucky enough not to have the gas pains either and I did very well as well. I'm now 3 weeks post op and I feel great!!
  9. It turns out that I didn't have an infection in my incision, my surgeon says it looks great ( I thought the incision itself looked good too, was just concerned with the pain around the incision and the light green drainage)..but however he wasn't okay with the fact that I had the pain in my stomach and was feeling yucky, so he had a catscan and blood work ordered right away. It all came back good and the blood work showed no infection. He seems to think that I may have be alittle dehydrated, so I rested today and made sure to get more Protein in and I feel much better. As to the question of Jorge, I haven't had any fever and my incision is through my belly button so all my stitches are inside. The drainage has no smell to it, I laughed when my surgeon smelled it on thursday at my postop, but now I know why he did it.
  10. Funny that you are saying this!! I was just talking to my neice on Saturday about how happy I am I did this and that yeah I could have lost 30 pounds on weight watchers, but never in a month. Plus I had 120 pounds to lose, I don't believe that I would be able to lose that much weight on WW...This has been the best thing I could have done!! I wish you the best of luck!!
  11. That is awsome!! You go girl!!!
  12. Good Luck and see you on the losing bench soon!!!
  13. Hi everyone! I am 20 days post op and looks like I may have a small infection in my single incision (belly button). I went for my postop on Thursday and he told me the one thing they fear is infection in the incision at this point. Well this weekend I ended up with alittle green drainage from the incision and today I woke up with pain around the incision, So I called them and they believe its the start of an infection, so I'm glad I called right away!! Other then this little problem, everything else is great, I'm, loving meshy foods and I even went out to dinner this weekend for my birthday and had shrimp cocktail and mash potatoes...No cake.. but hey it's all worth it!!!
  14. So I'm 16 days postop and I return to see my surgeon this afternoon. I'm so excited to go on the messy diet, I went out last night and bought all the things I think I need for the next stage, so along with everything else I'm learning to prepare for things ahead! One thing I never did before and it always ended me up at a fast food restuarant. According to my scale this morning I was down 28 pounds. YAY!!! What was everyones first messy diet meal??? I'm so happy that I am a sleever and I love being a loser!! I hope everyone else is doing well!!
  15. Mine was around 3 hours, but my surgery was all done through one incision in my belly button. Which is great because u will never know I had surgery..no scars!! I was the 4th or 5th single incision they had done at this particular hospital, and everything went great!!
  16. I had surgery on May 3, 2011 and was back to work the following Wednesday 5/11/11. I didn't have any complications and the first day I was tired, which was to be expected, but I think the best thing I did was pushing myself to get back to work, I'm now 2 weeks post op and I feel great!! I also have a desk job and that is why I only took a total of 8 days. Good luck!!
  17. I so needed to read this post today!! I am two weeks post op and I had lost 10 pounds my first week after surgery and I got on the scale today and have only lost 2 pounds in my second week post op. I'm also so sick of drinking protein shakes that a few times this week I didn't eat my evening shake because I just didn't want to, I wasn't hungry and was just sick of it, not that I can't get it down because I can, just didn't want it and I think thats probably bad! So I was feeling alittle frustrated, but after reading this I'M NOT GONNA STRESS about it!! I go to the doctors on Thursday and can't wait to get on the messy diet. Thank you so much for posting this!!
  18. Maggie, I'm not able to find the May sleevers in post op? Please help!! I'd like to post there as well seeing I'm am a May Sleever as well!!
  19. Good Luck to you all!! It's amazing being a loser!!!
  20. Maggie, I saw your videos and I'm so sorry your having a tough time, I hope things are getting better by the day!! Thanks Everyone!!
  21. I can relate alittle to this as my boyfriend was opposed to me having the surgery but for other reasons then you. My boyfriend was afraid of losing me by death from the surgery not by me leaving him or jealousy. My boyfriend is totally against any kind of surgery (kinda wierd I know), and his cousin had the bypass and almost died, so that didn't help either. But we sat down and talked about it and he told me it was my decision and that he would be supportive of my decision no matter what, he loved ME. When I got my surgery date, he asked for the time of work, we didn't talk to much about the surgery until like a week before. Since my surgery he has really become interested in my weight lose..HE IS NOW SO SUPPORTIVE!! I also had no complications and he was thrilled with that!! Hope if all works out the way you wish!!
  22. How do you get the Video's?? Maggie I'm so sorry your having a rough time!!
  23. Good luck!! You will do great!! Praying for a speedy recovery!!
  24. Hi everyone!! Today is my 10 day post sleeve and I'm feeling great!!! I think the best thing I did was getting back to work after 8 days, each day I wake up with more and more energy and I feel great!! I am so blessed to have been able to have this experience and with no complications. I was so scared of complications, but so far this experience has been amazing. However, I can't wait till next Thursday to go on the messy diet!!! It's not that I'm hungry I think it's a mental thing that I want to chew something instead of drink. But that will soon end!! NO REGRETS!!! Loving life!!!
